A repost of an oldy The book Once within an ivy nook, There lay within a book, A flower pressed away. Old and fragile, Gold with age, Placed within a page, To conjure an emphasis, A moments bliss. An hour of the heart, A faded flowers part, To enchant and decant, In rapture reminisce, The forgotten kiss. |

Sy, This is a lovely little poem that you have pulled out of your files. It makes me wonder how many poems you have written and all the treasures that have not yet been shared with others. This is beautiful. Love ya, Liz |

I hope this is a memory of your own Sy, I have had a flower pressed away in my diary FOREVER, that my first love gave me....and I can still look at it and remember that innocent love. Good poem too! Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... |

I haven’t read a bad one from you yet and this is definitely no exception to that rule. Yes, I admit your general rule. That every poet is a fool: But I myself may serve to show it. That every fool is not a poet. |

Nan as an elephant...hehe - trampling us with poetic wisdom! Sy - I am...just thrilled by this - it is a poem that touches the senses and takes one there - to that moment. Another well done, master poet. K< !signature--> '...I want to be free - free to know people and their backgrounds - free to move to different parts of the world...' When I was in high school, my "then" high school sweetheart put a leaf in a book to remind her of me....I think it was poison ivy. All joking aside Sy....this is a wonderfully written poem....I wish I could delve into the world of seriousness some...but I got this affliction (guess it's a little red guy with horns and a pitch fork)that just kinda takes over whenever I get started seriously...You truly have the heart and mind for the real good stuff..... |

...and the scent of the reminisce brings back the moment of the kiss... as always, I'm enthralled. Sunshine Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

I can either form a note refering to what others quote or I can say that this poem is wise because i know the feeling but what I didn't realize that your words brings back a lost thought wrapped up in my memory cloth Very nice the way you decribe the forgotten kiss. The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |

There within the yellow pages Lay a single rose Aged to brown, and meaningless Or some would just suppose But to her tender, loving heart The flower meant so much For in it's fragile petals Lay the memory of his touch The book, it held the contents Of laughter and of tears Represented by a single rose That weathered countless years Inspiring and beautiful Seymore |
