Your muteness thunders loud within my head The volume’s up as high as it can go My nerves so taut they’re fragile as fine thread If broken now how can these fingers sew? A word or two is really all I need To weave a tapestry would be delight You cruelly turn away although I plead The end of painful quiet’s not in sight. Not golden is this silence that I find Lush ponderings quite threadbare they have worn Companion once, why are you now unkind? You’ve rent in two my soul, the fabric torn. Return again and quell my rising fear That soon I’ll plagiarize ol’ Balladeer. < !signature--> Denise [This message has been edited by dsnyder (edited 01-06-2000).] |

I could feel the tension of silence here Denise--very well told. In the dew of little things, the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. (ee cummings) |

Well Denise, you've written a wonderful poem about your writer's block, and that's a good subject to write about, and your poetry is beautiful no matter what the topic Liz |

Relax and enjoy writer's block Denise. Go back and look over old poems you wrote and see how you would/could change them. I think writer's block is like a couple wanting a child so badly they can't conceive. Once they adopt and relax...they can have a dozen of their own! Robert |

Denise, my dear, I did not understand My words of verse could be a magic wand With power to take you by the gentle hand And lead to joy and pleasure and beyond. If I had know my absence struck you so I would have filled the page with words of rhyme I'd raze the dam and let the river flow Instead of being guilty of this crime. Sleep well, my friend, and you may rest assured That I'll be here creating newfound rhyme And, for the pain and torture you've endured, I'll fill your heart with ballads in no time. |

Denise, your poem speaks of me too...It seems that while in love, they flowed good, in heartache, even BETTER, and now, eh~~not so good. May your words return, so that you can e-mail me some too!LoL Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... |

Honestly - without a dose of W B, we just wouldn't appreciate it so much (the writing that is!) LOL - you have just added to Balladeer's big head...gotta watch that! Ye did well with this, Denise. Only at Passions will someone with writer's block complain about it in a perfectly crafted Shakespearean Sonnet..... |

Thanks, Balladeer! Your poem captures it well! Raze that dam and let it flow! Devina- Thanks! Hey, maybe we could start a writer's block workshop! hehehehe Severn- Thanks! You are probably right! I know I certainly appreciate any glimmer of inspiration that comes my way, so much more that I did when I was writing a poem or two a day! Nan- Thanks! I have you to thank for introducing me to the sonnet! I think it has become my favorite form! Toe- Sorry! What can I say? The man inspires me! Run for cover, the dam is being razed and here come the flood waters! hehehehe Thanks again, everybody! Denise |
