It glitters in the sunshine And makes a fools heart twist It has its very own story That a fool just can't resist The stream sings its song As it moves along Carrying the gold That will let one grow old Without a penny to ones name If one follows this gold One will never find wealth Yet one can find health of the soul Walking a path of glittering gold Seeing the sky up high One can find a peace as no other place Could ever truly provide So I will be a fool And follow the gold That one can never truly hold And let the others chase the gold That will bring riches if it's sold I will choose the clear blue sky The trees that grow around me I will choose this place That will forever bind me To the beauty of the poor That were led off shore By their own fools gold |
