Into Every Life...

She looks into air, herself falling rain
Dripping coldness past, memories old pain.

Drops fall, the puddling her damp water-life.
Spiraling a mirror, self-lonely strife.

A sigh, one frown, crying soft saddened tears.
Storms of remember - through bleak yesteryear.

Clouds a-whorl, dark sky sheltering fair heart.
But how can she joy, while taking no part?

Cov’ring cold soul, corona of defense.
Defying the stab of her fate’s intents.

“This is madness,” she thinks in plaintive cry.
“I’m here, on the cusp, of lay down and die.

What my destiny, but an empty-off dream?
A plaything with which gods and angels scheme.

Am I doomed then to live, time never-free?
Subsumed wholly ‘neath life’s scattered debris?

Is justice, outside this torrential doubt?
Perhaps more than sorrow, painful fall-out?

Is love, perhaps, just a sliver of sun?
Shining through mists, revealing Avalon?

Personal paradise, which I can own,
Evoking happiness, hither unknown?”

She raises from streets of lonely no more.
Light slicing through darkness, hopes washed ashore.

Her withered gait now straightening with pride.
She glides like an angel ‘cross future’s tide.

Belief in life renewed, no, only found.
Footsteps echoing, a cadence of sound.

Caressing the ground, sing the beat of her heart.
Into the sun seeking love’s brand new start.

Such turns of fate and despair are indeed rare my friend. Did good yet again my friend.

This leaves me with the impression that I have read a short story that peeks into someone's life.  It is amazing that the entire thing could have happened in the space of an instant.

Well done my friend -- you are not so challenged by structured verse as you might imagine.

Wo!  Talk about not getting enough the first time around.  Bartender, I'll have whatever you gave her!

Definately a quality piece here, Chris.  Me thinks I need a fresh peek into that brain of yours, something's definately churning in there.  Great work.

Christopher,
Only a woman in love would cry such tears and then "glide like a angel", and she must be someone beautiful to you, for you to have written in such a way about her.
  This is beautiful, as always

Somehow my dear, this piece speaks very personally to me.  I know you didn't write it for me, but as I read it, I see myself as the character....Tis a remarkable piece!  Passion pours from it - you have seen her through eyes of knowing, and you saw her correctly and beautifully!  Aaahhhh.....

You write with such passion, Chris, and I must congradulate you on being one of so few men, with the ability to look through a woman's eyes and successfully write about her pain among all else.  Wonderful job- as usual my friend!

Just wanted to add my wonderful to the others.  This poem comes from a sensitive heart and I feel the churning of intelect and wisdom along with that empathy. Very well done!

I have to ditto pFF's words with this one Chris. Though I know it is not I you write about, I feel every word you wrote. This could be my life. I am looking for that path to love; I do not believe it is easy nor close but I look all the same.

Your talent shines through this piece my friend. It is very well written and touches the heart.

I thought this was phenomenal.  It was nice to read an upturn of the character, in that many poems i read just continue on the downward slope.  Incredible, not to mention, the writing itself, which is amazing.  I hate writing these responses, because most of the ones i write about are so amazing, and well written, and great, that there is nothing i can really say to match their quality, as my own writing isn't quite on the same level.  However, i will do my best and just say it was great.  Thanks.

Whiskey- Thank you for reading and commenting!

Scott- Rare indeed as I've yet to see one my friend.

Kess- As you say...
And if it appears as a story, then perhaps I did something right eh?

Ruth- ALWAYS! Thanks!

Mike- (shrug) LOL, peek anytime you want bud, but it's scary in there!

Liz- Your response has touched me, I'm glad I could do the same for you!

Gen- I wrote it for you and for anyone who's ever been "there." Thank you!!!

Meadowmuse- Bingo, exactly and yep, you got it right! Thanks!

Devina- I don't know what to say! That's an incredible compliment, I'm flattered!

Tamera- Thank you too!

Jaxjoy- Encouragement comes in many forms, find it where you can!

Martie-   I'm blushing... thank you for being so sweet!

Marilyn- Thanks for the ditto's and I am glad I could touch your heart!

Patchouliwhatever...LOL- I have to say that you response lack nothing in the matter of elegance and intent! I feel honored that you would put such effort into letting me know what you thought!

Sharon- (I did, Idid, I did!) Hehe, I KNOW!!!

Cindy- HUSG my friend, thank you for the sigh!

What else could I say but beautiful? OK - many things, I concede!

Yes, though, beautiful is a fitting word.
