To Wit!

Quite clever yarns I yearn to spin;
Fun pithy verse to make folks grin;
Is it a gift – could I not learn
A witty phrase or two to turn?

Amusing tales I’d love to tell
Is there a chance – could I excel
At giving folks a laughing fit;
Could what I write cause sides to split?

Although a clown I’d love to be
Me thinks it’s but sheer fantasy;
I’d better stick with other stuff
-Romantic flights and weepy fluff…

And let the masters handle wit
-of which I’m not – I must admit
And humbly wait the next great gag
From ‘wayoutwalt’ and fun ‘Toerag’!!
