Am I being cynical or maybe just getting old
but it's out with friendship, out with love
forget about commitment that story's far too old
never mind the time, or the care and the hugs

Forget about making life fun and go find someone new
promises of *you* and *I* now all wrapped and gone
I'd like to say the words I spoke to you were true
til I knew you were unfaithful then they were wrong

But you did me a favour because then I found a man
One who stood by all he knew and felt within his heart
even though it meant we couldn't dream and plan
I'd rather be alone in love than stay without a part

I loved you then guess part of me will always care
the silly little things that once meant everything
but the truth in loving is in giving your heart to share
with that thought in mind, I just took off your ring!

*phew* ...doesn't that feel better...*g*

Don't ask me where I'm going, just listen when I'm gone and far away you'll hear me singing softly to the dawn.

It does sound like it feels better, Rainbow. Glad you found someone worth it.

Whew! Rainbow!
If this is true, good for you!
You bare your heart.
(Incidently, I love your poetry)

If you did it and it feels good, then it was the right thing to do, Rainbow.

Guys: Yes, I do tend to write as I feel (Elizabeth.. ..)...but this is old really but when my last marriage broke up I felt I had to make a date ( I referred to it in a poem somewhere) to somehow make it symbolic..after all, the vows I made were...but throughout all the nasty bits somehow you believe (or I do) that what you think is not really happening...anyway, I don't love him, haven't for a long time but the end of a marriage is always hard, however you feel and I have a few things coming up that need my time and concentration and this Christmas showed me that I live within a world of dreams and it was high time I lived those dreams and you can only do that...when you're free...so I let go...

Great RG! Only way to go on is to let go to what's holding us back.  Good for you!

All right Rainbow--find that pot of gold!

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Hi RainbowGirl,

Oh so sad a poem, but with hope too.  The ending sunk my heart. Such a read, such a moment.

What feelings shared in such a poem.  I feel the release and know its purpose oh so well.....Better days and dreams ahead

Drive it like you stole it...LOL And another thing...When I rev my engine I want people to think the world is coming to a end....hehehe

Forget about those "finger rings"
That ain't the way to go,
What you need's a cuddly rag,
Wrapped around your Toe.

I never leave a shade of green,
Like a silly gold-tone ring,
And "Toerags" never ever hurt,
They just gander up your skirt!
