California! Yeah! Okay, I'm done now

Starry skies, glistening moon,
Could always make my heart sing.
Whispery flowery, feather-soft wind,
Could forever send me into a peaceful dream.
But these were luxuries I had yet found,
For without the guide to these peaceful woods,
Beneath such a beauty in the heavens,
I would be lost.

Wanderer, stray, and a frightened fallen angel,
The solitude you offered was my grace.
Through all the tears, frights, and soars,
You taught me to fly again,
Always the gentle falconer
Handling a broken flier.

You've been there for me
Through all these years,
Always the knight
In a sea of thieves.

You've been there for me,
Always by my pillar
To fall back on,
When the wind knocks me down.

You brought this falcon to dream of skies again
You brought back the warmth to the ice
And I can still manage a little smile,
Wondering how easily you slipped by.

The years haven't taken anything so much
In comparison to you.
From childhood you guided me
Until your falcon rose into the stars again.

We've drifted apart
And yet, somehow, you're still here
In my memory, heart and soul
For the falcon will always remember
The dearest of friends
Who had taught her to fly again
And had always been there.

"Sometimes stars can only be seen in darkness."

"Sorrow's crown of sorrow is remembering happier things."

Nothing more special
than the friends that
are always there for you
even though years may go by.

And friends you open your heart to
as you have done here.
Thanks Astrae, nice piece!

Beautiful! What a blessing it is to have friends like that!

Mighty Falconer, wise and bold.
Your oaken arms always seem to hold,
The weight of me as I perch.

Hmmm..i always seem to do this...I am inspired by a piece and begin to write and then suddenly I loose my thought. *sigh* anyone care to help?

Tiffany-
Absolutely lovely.
Breathtaking look at friendship.

Coupled with such beautiful imagery as this-

'Whispery flowery, feather-soft wind,
Could forever send me into a peaceful dream.'

Very, very nice.

This is truly special
Very nice way with words you have
Like the part with the Falcon very much

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

I can truly relate to this..such a lovely way of expressing the loss of someone that meant a lot.  Beautifully done, Astraea.

Hi Astraea,

Ah, so beautiful with bittersweet.  I love the falcon in this verse.

You taught me to fly again,
Always the gentle falconer
Handling a broken flier.

You've been there for me
Through all these years,
Always the knight
In a sea of thieves.

Sometimes an angel touches us in a very special way....and shows us the strength we hold inside...they remind us that life can truly be wonderful when inspired by a true friend!!  Loved that!!! Thank You!!

Take Care
