Discarded Fascination There is a bolt laying on my sidewalk medium-heavy duty kinda fellow. Obvious from the grime and rust once perhaps a proud, shiny, new bolt. It lays on a corner of unused concrete mocking from it’s corner of sunshine. Accentuated by the shadows of the fence abit closer and last years weeds would conceal. It looks as though it’s once upon a life was one of axles, machinery, perhaps wheels. Maybe a swingset or bicycle, long gone might have been from last centuries farm. Oh, the scenarios that tinkle through the might have beans, the what do you thinks. Changing in a flash to who would have almost a message in that lonely bolt. As the shadows dance and transform this piece of old, very used steel In imagination captured; several lifetimes yet in the end, it remains... a simple bolt laying on my sidewalk. Good imagination and wording. I've seen a few of these old bolts myself. Nice work! DH |

Almost missed this since they opened Open #6 this is so like you!! A bolt lying on the sidewalk about to sink into obscurity till someone notices that it may have significance to a life somewhere along life's pathway. You always notice things like this. Hi bleeding, I like what you did with that bolt. I too, find myself curious about things like that. Never could put something in words as you have here. I wanted the bolt to be "used" again, but it was, afterall, just a bolt! Loved it, Alle' |
