In the spirit of my deep love of kitties, I submit this tale of feline felicity.

My cat was stranded in my tree,
He climbed til he could not descend.
In caterwaul tongue he pleaded with me,
"Call the Fire Department again."

The sirens wailed, the red lights flashed,
As the fire truck rounded the bend.
My front door crumbled under their axe,
Before I could show them in.

"He's right up here in my Christmas tree,"
I pointed with mounting alarm.
The fireman stated, "Leave it to me,"
"Rest easy, there'll be minimum harm."

Search and Rescue has gotten much better,
The way they save cats is new.
When they can't use a hook and ladder,
They've found a shotgun will do.

Warning me to, "Stand out in the hall,"
"We'll be finished if you'll stand clear."
He splattered lil kitty all over my wall.
I signed it, "Jackson Pollock was here."

The infamous kitty kicker is now calling in reinforcements????? And all because the poor cat scratched you the last time you made a dive under the bed to escape Lor's wrath??? Ah, sailor... you're a mean, vindictive soul... he only lashed out because you squashed him up against the wall... but I guess you do need that refuge without fear of retaliation. *G*

Being an art lover, I can appreciate this. I'm wondering where I can get a cat, a tree and a 12 gauge?....Yanno LJA? I remember when ya used to get them free kitties out of the classified ads to feed your Python and for target practice....and now you've found an artform use also....You are so talented....and you come up with such neat ideas....not only in decorating, but your caring ways on life in general....Whatta guy!

I think you all missed the point here! I'm going to get a cat! Call Search and Rescue and have 12 hot looking firemen in my house! They will need a hose!

Hmmmmm. Seems to me the only time a cat has problems is when he winds up in your poe-tree.

Oh dear...  Cat-gut art.  And me being a cat lover, I think you should have asked the cat first.  But lovely nevertheless.  Couldn't help laughing in the end.

Actually, I'm a real sweetheart around cats.  I just write these poems to get a little sweet attention from all the tender-hearted ladies.

As for Ms deVine - well, she does have her ways of finding silver linings.  You go, girl!  Already I can hear the fireman saying, "I've never seen a fire as hot as this!"  lol

We purrrrr and feel sooooo soft to pet,
but we remember what men can do,
so when you come back as a RAT
we'll make mince meat out of you!
