A shadow cast from corner house The angel of death weeping tears The wrecking ball fell silent then She breathed the last of eighty years With the billows of dust she sighed How could she just remove her ties Her fate to roam these halls she met But just a glimpse through angel eyes Five generations she led them home For some too late for some too soon Each one she left behind would say She was a curse upon their boon I never thought I lived amongst her What I saw is what I could know But my bride to this was foreign She said it was for surely so To me this might be circumspect But my bride is with me today And if cross-town the angel's weeping I hope her eyes don't turn this way [This message has been edited by wayoutwalt (edited 02-04-2000).] |

When I was reading this I was filled with all the emotions of loss, the people in my life and then to add more pain, losing the physical places that reminded me of them. I like how your words brought that out! Great poem Walt.......you should definitely post more!! Denise |

A weeping angel -- what a priceless description of death ... walt, what you lack in quantity and frequency you make up twofold in quality and depth of thought. Post just as often as you like, and no more -- I have learned to relish the rare pleasure of reading your work. --Kess Full fathom five thy father lies, Of his bones are coral made, Those are pearls that were his eyes; Nothing of him that doth fade But doth suffer a sea-change Into something rich and strange... --William Shakespeare, from The Tempest |

Well now, Walt... I've always loved your replies. You have "a way with words" ...pretty much has me giggling um... A LOT. This, on the other hand, is not at all what I thought it would be. Darkness mixed with light. Sadness mixed with love and admiration... (if I interpreted correctly) I'm not quite sure what to say, other than it's brilliant in it's own way. (sorry 'bout the rhyme...*giggle*) [This message has been edited by Sally S. (edited 02-03-2000).] |

Wherefore I wonder whence wayout walt wends his words from..... You sure there aren't several people in that head??? Which one is you in the picture??? This piece is really good walt... You have a wonderful ability to express emotion... I'm smiling (even though it was a sad poem).. |

What an image your words created in my mind, the weeping angel watching the dust settle is truly heart wrenching ..... |
