A long time ago, it happened
               love from distant past,
as though destiny wove a path
               to bring us together
You appeared, red dress, blue eyes,
               embracing smile, married
           and I, successful, outgoing, overly
                   friendly, married

A long time ago, it began
the days of you and I
on this road of reckless passion
                 we traveled, wantonly
             filling needs that were hidden
                  or never discussed
            every avenue of ecstacy traveled
                  fantasies fulfilled

A long time ago, it happened
               when a secret love soared
         now only memories, hardly recognizable
             both still married, separately
distance and time, years gone by
tracks in sand, long since washed away

Moments of splender, nights so tender
               longing for that distant past

Danny, while this was a lovely poem, and it painted a sad picture, I feel sorry for your wife and the other woman's husband. I just don't agree with cheating on your spouse- for any reason. Maybe because I was cheated on.-SEA

Beautiful Danny!

All to often we find a moment of completeness in the wrong place at the right time. To some it may be adultery and for others that second cup of cappuccino.....(LOL)

Everyone longs for fulfillment be it past or present.

Danny,
We always seem to find what we need at a time when it can't possibly work out. This makes me very sad

Realizing what u truly desired all along is what usually happens when it is too late. Personally i would hope you still have that same desire for your wife(if the poem is about u), but let's face reality, so many people have these same hidden feelings, so i am giving your poem a straight plus +++Rosie
