He'll let me go, he said he would,
Do you think I should believe?
Should I start to pack my bags,
Say adieu and take my leave?

I have to think about this,
Before I make my move.
I know too much about him,
He has too much to loose.

I have a friend who'll help me,
He comes in every night.
He said some really subtle things,
I know he'll treat me right.

When he wants a lap dance,
To have a closer see.
He looks past all the other girls,
And always asks for me.

He listened to my troubles,
And yes, help he surely would.
That is how I ended up,
Sitting in this box of wood.

The thing I've learned in this my life,
Nothing is for free.
My friend is quite a sweetheart,
Also Prosecuting Attorney.

So here I sit within this box,
Telling all I know.
Hoping that in my new life,
Never again I dance a show.

There he sits, my master,
For me no side ways glance.
Cause I am now a traitor,
Turning State Evidence.

Hey, Marilyn, I know that guy. He won't cause any grief.
That lawyer isn't big enough to fill up his own briefs.
A lawyer, huh? I am amazed that he could get that far
He has the reputation that he cannot pass a bar!

That shyster doesn't plead the fifth....he pleads FOR one, instead
And, if you put your faith in him, you're gonna wind up dead!
Come back and give your soul to God and all the rest to me
And I'll give you a smile to last throughout eternity!!

Well-crafted poem Marilyn. I can tell you put a lot of thought into it.

Marilyn...LOL on this one, and I love Sir Balladeers reply.  You two are a class act... not sure which class it is but you're both getting A's in my book. Thanks for the laughs .

Well done indeed Marilyn, I really enjoyed this

Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely.
