Moments Revisited

It only took a moment,
for my fear to fly ~
it only took a moment,
Dad was by my side.

It only took a moment
for him to calm me down,
it only took a moment
to turn a smile from frown.

It only took a moment
plus a hug or two ~
it only took a moment
to bond to him like glue.

It only took a moment
for him to give me “winks.”
It only took a moment…
…makes you stop and think.

It only takes a moment
to make a moment best ~
it only takes a moment
for you to pass this test.

Do you take the moment?
Are you so inclined?
To make each moment special
in your own child’s mind?

Excellent writing! Often times, it is those moments we take time for that we remember as being most special.  This poem is a wonderful message.

Danny, thank you for taking a "moment" to read and see the message.  The "excellent" is making me smile.

Love your poems.
Don't have any children of my own, but I treasure every second with my three godchildren - and I hope I make a deep impression on them too.
Look forward to reading more of yours!!

Great name, Jascanvey - and I am sure that if you know you are doing well with your Godchildren, they will carry your imprint for all of their lives, exactly what I meant.  So glad you are enjoying this site, and my work.  Thank you.

Pepper, that you "sat and reflected" is perhaps one of the best compliments I have ever received.  Thank you.

Sunshine, I loved this! I can remember those moments with my parents'. I try to do the same for my kids'. It's hard to see them from my point of view though. Hope someday my kids will call me and tell me of their moments when I made a difference in their lives. Thanks for the great read!   -SEA

SEA, those are exactly the feelings I wanted to convey.  Yes, chances are, your kids will tell you this very thing someday.
