What you said was forever
but now we are apart
you lied to me
and broke my trusting heart

Maybe you forgot
or just didn't remember
allow me to remind you
what you said was forever

You knew I'd never leave
you said you'd always stay
so why is it
that you've walked away?

Maybe you forgot
or just didn't remember
allow me to remind you
what you said was forever

Those painfull words
hurt for so long
but now I'm happy
and my heart is strong.......

     -Because-

Maybe you forgot
or just didn't remember
allow me to remind you
what you said was Forever.

Did I write this?
Nah ...

You have a way of getting
right to the heart of things.
I like it.

You've expressed yourself so well.  And me too while you were at it...I feel I know exactly what you were getting at with this.  But too bad, as was pointed out, "forever" isn't the same for everyone...

If you love something, set it free, if it comes back to you, its meant to be...

Not even "forever and a day" carries much weight any more. If people were forced to honor "forever", there wouldn't be any divorce lawyers! What a concept!!
Nice writing.

Hi-C   )

We must have fallen from the same hay
wagon ... you, me, and countless others.
Your poem really hit home.
Does climbing back on the next wagon make
sense. It worked for me ... I got lucky,
I guess.

Very Nice ...It makes me wonder "Why" do we promise forever ? "Why" do we need to hear it ?

VERY nice, Sea. And how ironic; I just said the same thing (in different words) to someone of 14 years just this week!  Kinda neat to know I'm not the only one that 'believes'in forever.  I personally thank you.
