I was inspired to write two poems with this line, (thanks Marilyn!) the other, sadder version is in Dark Passions. ---------------------------------------------------- In the twilight, loves' last blooming Begins to form and to take shape The moon hangs in the sky, bright and looming As they run along the beach toward the end of the cape. His hand caresses her face As if he were opening the petals of a rose He does it with such skill and such grace That every second that passes, her love for him grows. She takes his hand, presses it to her heart He feels it beating softly, gently, only for him The brightness of her love showed from the start Making his world not so lonely, his life not so dim. In the twilight, loves' last blooming petal Falls on her cheek from the tree above She stirs next to him, then again begins to settle Never have they known such ecstasy, never have they known such love. ---------------------------------------------------- How'd I do Marliyn? ---------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |
