Somewhere in the vast wasteland

Today, I watched you cry
Not that you would notice
In all of your pain and suffering
How it hurts me to see you so

Everyday I have watched
Silently hoping, wishing, dreaming
Waiting for that moment
Planning every move I would make

I wrote you a poem
I bought a red rose
Even thought of chocolate
And then that moment was upon me

I didn't make a move
My thoughts all in chaos
What was I doing
My chance is here and fading fast

You still bore a frown with tear stained cheeks
You were lost in your dispair
How could I, a simple man
Brighten your day, atleast alittle

You were turning to leave
My heart was racing
I had to do something
I had to take my chance

I walked out from under my own shadow
I called out your name
You stopped, turned around
Seeing the rose you smiled

Watching your face brighten up
Sending chills to my core
Not knowing what to say, I said
Watching you smile makes my life worthwhile

With tears in your eyes
We embraced ever so tenderly
You then whispered in my ear
That is beautiful

Sometimes the most beautiful things in life
Are the one liners we speak from the heart

This was a tough challenge to use the line
-Watching you smile makes my life worthwhile-
in a poem.  It is a poem in itself.

Thank you.  It was no easy task.  I almost kicked myself for accepting the challenge.
