My BrotherThere is a quiet in you a calm a presence. Strength. You are gentle, your hands, wise. your eyes, kind. your voice, rich, resonant, serene. Your sad smile, precious and slow, finds its way to your face to tell me that we will somehow be alright. You pull me toward you, into your warmth, your scent, your safety, and through silent tears you hold me, tell me that I did a good job that I did everything I could that you love me. ...and I am going to be alright. This is so precious and is truly the love between a brother and sister. One always instinctively knows the other's capabilities, and with his reassurance you, too, know that you will be alright. Wonderful Liz |

SEA...thank you, glad this touched you. Why not write your brother a letter right now? Mike...thanks for reading. Glad you liked! Rex...it was only after we were adults that my brother and I became this close, as he is twelve years my senior and was already on his own as I was coming up. Recent events in our lives have helped to bring us to more of an awareness and appreciation of our special bond, and last night after talking with him, this poem wrote itself. Thank you for reading! There is always hope for your wee folks to share this sort of relationship! Have faith and guide them, separately, but in unity. They will do the rest. Liz...thank you for such a sensitive comment.
