Christians say
They fell in love with Jesus
Because they read his word
Devote their life to
His word
Live by
Die by
His word
Never shook hands with him
Or ate breakfast
At his house
Never took him to
A theater
Or played tag with him
Never ate Chinese food together
Never walked up
A flight of stairs
Or played Parchesi by a fire
When there was snow outside

I may never
Look into green eyes
Kiss crimson lips
Touch white skin
Or feel pink fingers
I may never sit with you
In a car
Or listen to music
In a hall with you
I may never taste your tongue
Or smell your hair
And would never have to
Because
I fell in love with you
Because I read your word

I’ve seen through your eyes
Though I can’t see them
I’ve tasted with your tongue
Though I can’t taste it
I’ve felt with your fingers
Though I can’t feel them
I’ve heard with your ears
I’ve smelled what you smelled
And I’ve felt the
Raging
Beating
Heart
Beneath breasts
Though I can’t touch them

And I know

That I have fallen in love with you

That I have stood on a high hill
And felt you,

Blow

Like the wind

Thanks Toe -- things are fine with me bro -- never better -- now, about that bridge, I think we can get you into this thing with a very low down payment and it'll pay for itself in no-time with all the tolls you'll get to charge...

Yanno I'm not completely without charm...!!!

Thanks for the read man...

Thanks everyone -- I figured I owed this one to all my old friends since I was such a stick in the mud naysayer for so many years...

Here I thought that you'd be pleading
For love from that internet
I was gonna have to tell you
(S)he's one tough lover to get!
With so much attention paid it
There might be cause for alarm
Even for someone who's
Not totally without charm! *G*
But now I better understand
Just what it is you plead
And those who scoff might do well
To give a moment's heed.
For someone's words can reach inside
And touch your very soul
You might have thought you were complete
Till someone made you whole.
I know I never thought I'd love
Someone I hadn't met
Till I found this world's finest man
Upon the internet.

An ecstasy as yet unknown
Enjoins a once unseemly pair
With passion born of words alone,
When love from inside out has grown.

And red is my stroke,
Isn't that the color of love?
One does not need gazing,
To be carried on wings of doves.

LR- nice poem!

Local Rebel,

nothing witty from me today
nothing clever to impart
just a solemn nod, my friend,
your words have found my heart

Dear Rebel,
I'm sorry to say I skipped over this one because of the title. I thought it was going to be a silly poem like I wrote one time about the net. But instead I was swept away by your thoughts and your words. This is simply wonderful, and so well expressed! Two thumbs up from this poet.
