This Explosion of Energy that Waits strong bastion this fortress where raging disables fragile chamber this sigh is creeping breath that withers screams in measure listen for footsteps in the sleep of this dream that drags to danger find me lost in this ambivalence look in the disturbance of air that trembles I know this hesitation and cannot wait for decisions that take my lifetime the signal is changing and the roar will be mighty this explosion of energy that waits It will cast away this day with determination and will start again and grace another dancing singing open and you won’t even know why [This message has been edited by Martie (edited 02-02-2000).] |

Hey Martie: I'm left wondering what is your own perception of this piece, because I'm having a tough time wrapping my mind around this one. I feel there is something there but can't quite put my fingure on it. Peace to you. |

Christopher--hey thanks for the Bravo. Scott--I know...confusion in this one, huh?...it is about anger in a peaceful person. It is about wanting to change something and the fear of changing. Does that help? [This message has been edited by Martie (edited 02-01-2000).] |

My thoughts ran in the direction of a person under the dominance of another... discovering the courage to act-out against their oppressor and finally breaking out to freedom. Divorce from an abusive spouse who won't even understand the reasons why they have been left. Yes / No? Well… that's my take. Thumbs and Toes to you. |

Martie, At first I thought the same as Andrew until I read your explanation and yes, you put your finger on it (I know from experience) and have the feeling that perhaps you do too. Otherwise how could you have known? Liz |

Martie- This is a little different for you. A part of me understands it ... I've been there too. Wanting all around me to feel the calm, while I wait out the storm within. Unsure if the lightning is worth releasing. Afraid of the ensuing thunder's roar. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

I tried to read this one slowly....and I can't. The words insist on racing through my mind at breakneck pace. Terrific work. |

Even the male of the species is capable similar feelings, but maybe not able to so eloquently express them. |

Sy--Thanks for seeing oodles. Denise-Feeling is the sign of a great reader. Scott--A person in this situation might feel the same, but thankfully this wasn't the case for me. Thanks for all your thought on this poem. Liz--Some things you just can't write about unless you experience them. I know you understand. Marge--your insight is amazing. I was trying to write from raw emotion, without the pretty. Thanks for understanding Balladeer--fast or slow, I'm just happy when you read my words and comment. Thank you. Mike--a human condition, alas, and you are a sensative guy. Thank you for your reply. |
