Like The Waves From The Shore
~Marge Tindal~

I must now ebb
The time has come
to sail my oceans

Rolling away from you
like the waves from the shore
rippling out to the vastness of the sea
that beckons my ship of folly

I'll not ask you
to stand the night vigil
on the shoreline
of memory

You are here
on the beaches of my memory
even though I drift the tides

If you should look
into a starlit night
and see a reflection of me
know only that
I will one day
come crashing again
to the shore
swept homeward
by the pull
of the tide
and
you

One of the most romantic poems I have read.  Truly enchanting

I used to be schizophrenic, but we're ok now so don't make me mad cause I'm running out of places to hide the bodies......LOL

Marge, I can think of no one who can ebb like you.   Wonderful poem.

Marge, I admire the means by which you incorporate the elements of nature into so much of your work, and this poem is (naturally!) no exception. Beautifully rendered and lovely to the "touch."

Thanks for the 'clean-sweep'.

Marge(y) - This is just so dreamy - I need a 'hunk' of driftwood to hang on to...

Kamla-
Thanks sweetie.
You will never be 'set adrift'
unless there's a 'hunk' to  hold
onto.
Love you, little one.

~Marge~

Beautiful and romantic - I was captivated!

For some reason, I feel like listening to "Ebb Tide" by the Righteous Brothers, your words always inspire me to write or remind me of songs and memories.  That's a sign of a great poet!

Take care,
