One bitter day, the start of the year
A cold little dragon wandered in
A pub full of warmth, friendly faces sincere
A place where new lives can begin.
His first poem, "Faith in Dreams"
Got only a mere six replies;
Insignificant, or so it seems...
Those six put the fire in his eyes--
That enabled him to write so much
And just as well as he did;
For until now, he did not have the touch
And the talent he held, he hid.

The next few poems got more attention
From those gathered there at the bar.
All the while, many did mention
"What a great poet you are."

All the while, Denise was there
To offer a kind reply--
She's so fast! She's everywhere!
As if she's watching from the sky...

A guardian angel, as someone said
One who sees all from above
And she makes sure every poem is read
And replied to with a bit of love.

Everyone else at the Pub and in here
I still wish to thank
For lifting me up, taking out my fear
'Cause when I started, I really stank...

I wish that I could be more specific
But I cannot list you all;
I do try to be optomistic
But If I tried, in exhaustion I'd fall...

Praise to you all, everyone...
For you've all been a good Samaritan
To a cold little dragon who tries to write
And does not do well, but tries to be right.

Thank you, Sam. This is so sweet, you've brought tears to my eyes....*wiping tears*...
You are a wonderful addition to our family here Sam and I have to disagree with you that you 'stank'. I've enjoyed every piece that you have written and posted here. Every single one has been a delight!

I'd like to thank you also for all your help at the Pub. The crowds have picked up and your warm greetings to all the newcomers has certainly been appreciated by Sharon and me!

Thanks again for including me in this poem...you are a sweetie!! (and so is your little dragon, too!!)

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR 100th POST!! WOW, THAT WAS FAST!!!

Dear Sam,
Thank you for telling us your age. I am truly amazed. I have read some of your work at the Pub, but never would have guessed. This is a wonderful poem and tribute to Denise who has been the guardian angel for many of us, always there at every post. I don't know how she keeps up. But she is truly a wonderful friend
Thanks for this lovely poem'
Liz
