'Twas a Dream?"

'Twas a dream like no other
in soft slumber surreal
A recaptured arising
of my love's lone appeal

Entreating me never to
take wing down to sea
Embrace and ensheath
empty heart that is me

Bid me come dine with you
'pon our fair Isle of Man,
then in chambers, hushed whispers
'gainst the palm of my hand

Singing softly your sentiment
but withstanding protests
Bringing brightly the candlelight
nearest notions confessed

And at once I am open
And at once I am yours
And at once I am loved again
near the shadowed man's shores

Dear LadyClaire

Me, too. The last stanza makes the poem. Good writing, Claire.

A sad but well written Dream
So ellegantly filled the screen
Words aligned in clear line
Your poem so sad but such divine
Love and peace may come to you

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.
