My aunt who died
Almost two weeks ago
Came home today
To her final resting place
In a small wooden box
Filled with her ashes
And when I heard the news
I felt the shiver
Over the  miles
From Florida to Maryland
Of her spirit
Settling in.
My uncle has decided
To keep her in the family home
On the coffee table
In the TV room
Never more will she roam
But be Home Sweet Home.

God Bless you Aunt Mari, you were a inspiration to me when it came to seeing how to love a man...I know you loved yours till death you did part...

Rest In Peace

This is a lovely tribute to your aunt. I'm sure she'd love it, Lorelei.

Thank you one and all for your thoughts...
her memorial service was today, due to family stresses, we did not go...however I heard from my mom that the little wooden box went to the service too..anyone have any experince like this?  I'm starting to think my uncle is going to take her ashes everywhere he goes...creepy!

Nan, make sure you burn a good "memory" into that candle...LOL

My Lorelei has the most tender heart of anyone I know.  She loves completely, from her soul.  She is only now learning about meter and rhyme, but when she writes what is in her heart, it is incredible.  I love this poem because she wrote it so cleanly and it is pure poetry, written without the need to show anything other that what she is.. a loving and gentle person who fills my life with such a deep satisfaction that it sometimes overwhelms me.  This is a great poem, lil Lorelei.
