As evening paints a sunset, across sky's western face, I soar above on winds of time, on wings of feathered grace, In the distance, mountains high, in regal majesty, Stand watch o'er plains that stretch below, as far as eyes can see. Sentinels, stone granite peaks, capped in virgin snow, From their bosoms to the plains, the snow as rivers flow, 'Twixt the peaks and verdant plains, lay the mountain's valley, Conduit for the alpine streams, from forth the torrents sally. As hush of evening spreads its dark, the sky irrupts ablaze, A million twinkling stars above, hearken heaven's praise, Reflected on the plains below, the twinkling of star's lights, Unfettered wings of angel's grace, I soar into the night. |

Really beautiful. Sure makes me wonder where my wings are -- why am I sitting here at an office desk. Sigh . . . You certainly paint a vividly real picture here, Mike. I felt I was soaring with you. |

This is so beautiful Mike, you got my wanderlust going with this scene. I could see it so clear, I want to really be there. Thanks for the wonderful picture. |

Mike! Tres Magnifique! Your writing just keeps getting better ... I did have one little suggestion, though ... I take it you meant to say "erupts," in line 9? Triumphant, captivating verse! Keep it coming ... --Kess Full fathom five thy father lies, Of his bones are coral made, Those are pearls that were his eyes; Nothing of him that doth fade But doth suffer a sea-change Into something rich and strange... --William Shakespeare, from The Tempest |

Beauty, pure, exquisite beauty. A lovely picture you paint here. I am impressed by your work, Mike. *Krista Knutson* ~*Like a lion, without fear of the howling pack, Like a gust of wind, ne'er trapped in a snare, Like a lotus blossom, ne'er sprinkled by water, Let me, like a unicorn, in solitude roam.*~ Hymn Of Buddha |
