Purgatorial Incarceration

Who Would Have Thought?

Through storm darkened mists, down passages of time,
Were borne empty arms, by cruel fate’s design.
Wandering lost, my stone heart lay shrouded,
With a future portrayed as dark and clouded.
Strange indeed, the little twists life places,
On unwary hearts, frozen in stasis.
Limbo revoked, cast aside, is no more.
When friendship is found as never before.
See, inside this bond, held tight though not chained
Self-worth is renewed, love of life is regained.
No more winter’s touch, no more icy soul.
For at last I’ve found, my true miracle.

Christopher...I think the miracle was in yourself all along, you just had to realize it was there. I'm glad to be seeing these more positive posts as of late

You my friend deserve the best. When you thought you had nothing left inside to give, you still found the strength to give friendship. That is the miracle and it is in you.

Isn't it wonderful when we find our miracles, and the various lessons that get us to the point we are at now...beautiful!

I'm glad to see that you've found something as special as friendship in your life.  You do know how to use your words dear Chris!

More positive indeed.
Glad to see it.

And this is, of course, a beautiful poem Chris.

Hey, Chris, your poems are beginning to match that smiling face! It is easy to dwell on the fact that this is uplifting but it should be noticed also that these lines are very well thought out and put together. Nice work.

Me thinks me likes the first line....it sets the mood/tone for the whole thing...gives it a mysterious haunting - dark feeling.  Yeah, and then it's nice to see it take a turn for the brighter!  Indeed, probably one of your more "thought out" poems I've read of late...of course, most all of yours are.  (nodding in approval)

Well done my friend.  Great from first line to last.  Sure is nice to see some warmth from you, I have to agree with the others.

Chris, this is really beautiful. Sometimes a miracle is just around the corner and we have no idea what's in store. Really gorgeous, this touched me. Thank you for this.
