Sitting in Michael's Lap

He always manages to bring a smile
A friend unswerving, and a willing ear
Perhaps to only stay and talk a while,
Perhaps to bring a dose of needed cheer.
You never know what thought he'll speak of next,
But guessing is the interesting part --
Intelligent, a little undersexed, (hehehe)
Rare specimen, a man of endless heart.
The ladies (most) are putty in his hand,
(He's widely known to have a silver tongue)
Delicacy, it seems, he's in demand:
A tasty treat for ladies old and young ...
Yet here he is, a gentleman alone,
Cali's untapped resource – it's such a waste!
He has to know how fond of him we've grown --
Resist him?  Not with THAT ol' baby-face!
In every word, in every work of art
Sings boundless talent and a poet's grace --
This soul, this work, is such a precious part
Of us, of Passions, of this poet's place.
Please join me, fellow poets, in this thanks.
His smile, his heart, and GOD -- those big blue eyes!
Every pen – let's show him that he ranks
Right up there with whipped cream and apple pie!

Yeah, so happy birthday, don't let it go to your head!

Full fathom five thy father lies,
Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...

--William Shakespeare, from The Tempest

PdV and WhtDove:  Thanks for replying, he really isn't so intolerable after all (but don't tell him I said so LOL)

devina, thank you SO much for lending credence to my "Delicacy" line! LOL

As to the rest of you, by which I mean those who HAVEN'T responded -- GET A MOVE ON, PEOPLE!  It's the boy's BIRTHDAY (or was) for Heaven's sake!

Well Kess, I really don't know what to say... umm, my mom alsways said you're supposed to say "thank you," when recieving a gift... but somehow right now that feels a bit trite. Yet, seeing as how I can come up with naught else, thank you will have to do!

Happy Birthday!  Do we get to spank him, too? *smiling innocently* It's tradition at my house.
