Hi everyone,

I'm new here. I recently became interested in poetry. I love these forums. I run a UBB on my site as well, but nothing like this!

In an attempt to get people involved in my forums, I made a little poem which I have as the header for all my forum pages. What do you think?

Everyone is welcome to lurk,

Welcome, u-gene, if you want to post poems
or comment on those already written.
But this is not a marketing room,
so your sales tools, forget them.
Come in, kick your heels up,
Have a glorious time as you're readin'.
Enjoy while your here but know
out this forum you shouldn't be leadin'.

U-Gene-

Welcome to the best poetry site on the internet.  Our forum is user-friendly and participation definitely not something we're lacking. Ron Carnell is the master host and a wizard at creativity for the family here.

Your statement works for me !
I trust it does for you.

Again, welcome ... hope you'll drop a
poem or two from time to time.

simplyYRREHS,

You totally misread my intentions. My site is very technical and matter-of-fact. I'm just trying to spice things up a bit by adding a little culture for the deadbeat scientists and engineers who frequent it. I'll be adding a page with quotes and poems. All I honestly wanted was some feedback.

Also, like I said, I've recently become interested in poetry. I have written a few things which I'd like to share and get opinions on as soon I get the courage to post them.

Misread?
Have I heard that somewhere before?
If it's spice that you're seeking, Gene,
Then look no more.
To liven your deadbeat scientist friends
Perhaps you should show them the way
To our Passionate Forum hideout ~
Oh wait, it's HERE they might wish to stay!
Just teasin' the new kid, forgive me please Gene.
Always looking for a virgin poet
Get that courage, dear Gene, to make your first post,
I can gaurantee you won't blow it.
We're a network of novices,
Like none grouped before,
So WELCOME new poet,
I'll gladly hold the door.

Sherry
