Next World The babe in the womb in his bath does grow. Sensing incompleteness a break in the flow. He wonders at murmurs thrills to Mother’s sweet touch. Understanding the loving and the need to rush. He shares the decision to try making him whole. At rest with the knowledge his repairman must know. On the day of the surgery his world is aflame. His heart beats furiously as his bath is drained. Then, oh eureka the brillant steel enters. Tomorrow’s portal does open bringing coldness of winter. He reachs to the light tiny handfull of soul. Knowing in the instant he will be made whole. Touching the hand of God the babe rests assured. Tucked safely back into his bath he dreams of next world. Nice to see the other side of this story...I can't imagine what the whole thing would have been like to see. An arm, the size of a pencil with a tiny hand reaching out to grasp the surgeons large hands...must have been overwhelming. I think it would have humbled everyone |

Bravo! I love this. The image of a child, not yet born, reaching out to touch the hand of God and knowing all is safe, is overwhelming. Beautiful, thank you for sharing this. It matters not how strait the gate; How charged with punishments the scroll; I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. --W.E. Henley |
