Well this is my last post for today (used my quota 2 per day..lol) It is another challange from Hoot.

If poetry were magic
What a wizard I would be
Showing such amazing sights
For all the world to see

I'd fly us all around the world
Indulge in every pleasure
There'd not be need for anything
For we'd find burried treasure

I would do tricks to amaze
And fill you with delight
And when your all alone in bed
I'd fill up every night :0

When the razzle dazzle wears
A little bit too thin
I'd conjure up a cottage
And let our life begin

Cause, if poetry were magic
It's only use would be
To give you everything you wish
And through it set you free

If poetry were magic
I'd use my magic wand
To take you to that special land
Past Heaven and beyond.

If poetry were magic
I'd say a magic phrase
Designed to fill you with contentment
In so many ways.

If poetry were magic
I'd make pain disappear
I'd place a smile on your sweet lips
To last throughout the year.

And poetry IS magic!!!
Come join me on the page.
Our act will last forever and
The world will be our stage.

Love it Marilyn!

Where there is peace,
there is GOD.
Where there is GOD,
there is no need.

Oh Mike!! That was wonderful!

So poetry is magic
And you wave your little (sorry...lol) wand
You take me far away from here
Up past the stars and beyond

Dovey..thanks.

Two lovely poems I've found here
From Marilyn and Balladeer
And both are charming as can be
The Queen and King of poetry.

Simply beutiful, you two!

And Balladeer definitely has a little "wand"...LOL

If poetry were magic,
Even I could write,
A poem that made a little sense,
And even I would look quite bright.

If poetry were magic,
I'd simply snap my fingers,
And zap old Balladeer some way,
And hit him with some zingers.

If poetry were magic,
I'd still not be Harry Houdini,
I'd find a way to screw it up,
And Nan would make it vanish completely.

AbbraCaddabra, a simple verse,
Like a rabbit out of the hat,
I'd find a way to make it worse,
Not even magic can change that!

It would take much more than magic,
To make a poet of me,
But ya always get what ya pay for,
And my BS is always free.

You're A Poet !
You're A Poet !
You're A Poet !

What enchanting ~Magic~ is ours
that fairly dance across the page.
If poetry were magic
it would be plain to see ...
that some of it has
rubbed off on me !

Zapped,
by the ~Mystic Muse Of Rhyme~
I find myself magically metamorphosed
into a fluttering poet this time.

If poetry were magic ?
We've all seen the Wizard's wand.
For upon these pages
the ~MAGIC~
has been done.

If poetry were magic

Down deep in caves of see
where dreams are made
I’d be
a maker of all dreams come true
my voice, more then words that say
would sore with angel’s wings
and breeze the poor with much to eat
If poetry were magic.

I’d see the season’s change
just as real as they are now
but without the summer haze of stinging smog
or winter’s hearth not emptied, filled
with fresh cut fragrant warmth
from trees that grow right back
into the regal beauty true
that they embraced before
if poetry were magic.

Id take your hand that’s cold as ice
and with mine like a glove
restore the flow that good health brings
and thus because two hands are grace
they’d bring such love to this same place
that before was only lonely
if poetry were magic.

If poetry were magic
then each of us would be set free
to roam the pages of the world
and graze in art and dance in love
in café’s sip from honeyed tea
and sail the wind kept at the place
where swift time stills in revered grace
and blossoms would forever give-off
fragrance into rooms of time.
If poetry were magic
then I could rhyme.

Myrilyn,
But poetry is a magic,
It changes all the tragic.
It lets you fly within the sky,
It changes all the wheres and whys.
It gives you all the magic powers
and the wisdom of the flowers.

Loved you poem.

I've got an invitation,
For the poets of this place.
To write with inspiration,
With such style and such grace.

If poetry were magic?
But it is the "dear" one says!
Show us all your magic,
Fill up our nights and days.

Join us here upon this page,
With meter and with rhyme.
The whole world is our stage,
Come help me keep the thyme.

To all who replied: I am so very pleased that this could inspire such reponses. Keep the verses coming for my soul flies with your words.

Toe: You need no magic to weave a spell on us here. Your humor and your wit are enough to enchant any you choose.

Mike: I am sooo sorry about that little quip thrown in your direction   I must admit you set yourself up for it very nicely...lol

Poetry is magic
Found on the intermet
Where else can you meet
The folks like I've met?
Poetry is magic
Each writer has the key
To take me to places
I'd otherwise never see
Poetry is magic
It's the tie that binds
Us all as a "family"
As we read each others lines

Your poetry is magic sister of mine.

You create the spell,
With your rhyming words of beauty,
A gift you share for us all to see,
What better magic can there be?

Bravo Maz (HUGS) and I will take you up on the challenge just Icq or email it or I may miss here..

Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely.

Bewitching fetch of poetry
bespelled me on this day
It cast about such wizard words
devined in me its fray

If poetry were magic, oh!
his words would conjure so!
traverse me oft to latitudes
lovely, and lands I'd gasp to go

Would my poets' pen were magic wand
'twould be my mystic's rune
that he, underspelled in sorcer's sleight,
come share this midnight's moon

And enter, quiet, my darkened rooms
steal soundlessly to my side,
seducing silent incanting charm
and to his poetry lover confide

Loved your bewitching poem, Marilyn!

If poetry were magic dear,
I rhyme a verse or two,
To create all the love I could,
And wrap it all 'round you!

beautiful Marilyn, but then it comes from a beautiful lady!

There is magic in poetry...only it's more subtle than we'd like to think. It can't perform instant miracles...so we need only bide our time and await the end of the spell!
