I thought that I would be recluse- And keep things to myself- My memories, experience And keep them on a shelf. Perhaps at times I'd take one down And sadly reminisce The lovely tropic sunset The fearful childhood kiss. The days when I worked cattle Out on the great divide Of friends whom I have known and loved Most of whom have died. The lovely country I have seen Throughout the great Southwest The State of my nativity The one I love the best. I find at times like these I can't Help but take my pen- And drag my mem'ries from the shelf And live them all again. For beauty is a treasure Much better when it's shared And, friends, to be quite honest- I didn't know you cared. Visit My Home Page http://www.geocities.com/montcogunslinger/HomePage.html |

Memories are best when shared with others. Most of what I write about is inspired by my memories. I guess they are the biggest part of me...where I spend most of my time these days. Great poem. Of course we care! ![]() Denise |

Thanks for posting your picture. It's so great to see the face behind the verse. Yes I care, and I would hope that you will continue to share your life with us, for you do spin a wonderful tale LIz |

You know, I've only been out west a couple of times.. but it's gorgeous country... and you evoke a new appreciation for it... Keep 'em coming, cowboy.... ![]() |

I always read your poems. I even searched all the forums for your old stuff. For a while I had myself convinced you were a famous writer flexing his muscle on the sly. Why in sam hill did you have to post your picture? I just hope you keep writing, Gunslinger. In fact, I hope you write a book. Tom |

We do care. I love hearing your memories, Gunslinger. Elizabeth Nail to the mast her holy flag, Set every threadbare sail- And give her to the god of storms, The lightning and the gale! -Oliver Wendell Holmes |

but of course we care!! Another great poem!! ~*~ Hell is not a place of fire and a devil with a tail and horns. But a place of torment because the light of God is gone. To escape this, accept the blood of Jesus Christ! ~*~ |

I am enjoying, so much, your natural, homespun style and verbal agility! And I must thank you for sending Passionate Forums' URL to me last week. Such poetic diversity is a pleasure to read! |

This is a wonderful poem! I loved it through and through. I really relate to the being reclusive, and the living while most loved ones have died. This is the first of your poems I have found. Excellent! ...Living is ever like crossing rivers; finding a new life on each shore ... RJG |

You cannot be a recluse when you post here, there are so many who admire you and I am one of them. Great poem! |

Enjoy reading your poems and your experiences. They are so very graphic that I can live them with you. Thanks. The only way to know Love, is to Know God. |
