Yesterday, I stepped on lots of toes.
I didn't mean to, heaven knows,
But everything I meant to say
Came out in the worst possible way.
I took offense at some small joke
Then MY transgressions the offender spoke
My list of misdeeds was so long
I had to accept I was in the wrong.
A friend said "howdy" and I flew
Into a snit - I thought he knew
I wasn't happy with his actions
And so I detailed each infraction.
All day, compassion was pretense...
I sulked, I moaned, I took offense.
Last night, my Dad called just to chat
And to tell me that my cat
Hadn't made it. Old Fenster died.
That's when I just broke down and cried.
Smoke gray beauty, harming none,
Fenster was a charming one.
Now his buddy stands by his grave
And I remember the love he gave.
Those petty anxieties no longer make sense
For yesterday, God also took a Fence.

RIP, ya ole puddin' headed Fenster monster. I love you.

A loving beautiful tribute to Fenster. So touchingly beautiful it made me cry. My beloved feline will be following shortly, I'm afraid.....

Thanks, Denise and Pepper! *S* There was a time when I resented Fenster... he'd belonged to an old boyfriend who didn't need either of us. In time, I realized I got the better deal! LOL

Fenster is busy washing his face
whiskers twitching with his usual grace
thinking back at the good life he had
hoping his mum won't be too sad
cause not all cats are quite so lucky
to have a mum who's feisty and plucky
we both gave each other so much love
as Fenster purrs in the sun's warmth above

ps: Fenster asked to tell you that..

Awwwww, Rainbow!!! I needed that... thank you so much!!! Somewhere in cat heaven, an angel is probably having to carry the big lug around... he was an expert at cadging a ride and saving his own feet the effort! LOL

Hello, Belle, err suthern,
It's old Fenster here.
I'm writing to tell you
To be of good cheer.

I'm up here in heaven,
For I was a good cat.
And let me tell you,
This IS where its at!

All day I chase dogs,
I trap them in trees.
And when I catch them
I give them all fleas!

My claws are all sharp,
Because the furniture's silk.
And when I am thirsty,
I drink nothing but milk!

The sun warms my belly,
As I lay on my back.
The mice comb my whiskers,
Then make me a snack.

The doors are all open
I can go in or stay out.
I'm thought of as cute,
Whenever I pout.

How was I so lucky,
To be sent here in the end?
Its easy, I was loved,
By you; my BEST friend.

Belle - please go easy on everybody today.  Ol' Fenster is watching you.

Hugs

Oh hon!...big hugs to you!  What a wonderful tribute to a spectacular friend...Fenster is livin' the good life now, don't you worry sweets.

May I never be too busy to help another's load,
Then I'll be drinking from the saucer 'cause my cup has overflowed.

LR: I'll probably make more than a few toasts tonight. *S* (And not devine at all... but huggz for the thought! *S*)

Hoot & Satiate: Thank you very much! He was pretty special. There were times when I would have sworn he didn't have a brain in his furry noggin... like when he decided to take a flying leap off a balcony... I guess he thought the twig that held a squirrel would hold a 25 pound cat! *S* But if you ever needed a purr machine, he was the man! LOL

Lady Suthern... Sorry for your loss...sorta puts everything in perspective.  You did good on this one and I'm sure Fenster is purring in the land of catnip and warm milk, fat gimpy mice and finely upholstered furniture.

You are so right, Suthern. Things that are really important do tend to eradicate foolishness and put it into perspective. I'm sorry for your loss and I understand your feelings perfectly.

LngJohn...you make a really neat cat!!

I'm sorry hearing the bad news
I have a cat he purrs and does still his due's
I can't imagine he be gone some day
But we all do, what can I say
Up there he is happy and does not whine
I seen him just today jumping up to cloud # 9
He send his meouws down to you
And say's he'll be waiting there for you
Hope this eased your pain a little bit
And if not I better quit
You have my prayer what shall I say
We all eventually have to go this way

A nice tribute to Fenster
