In my hands I hold my love
That once was wild and true
On restless wind, love blows away
As I say good-bye to you
I do not feel the rush,
as the tide comes in to shore
As birds fly, I hear not their song
I can hear and feel no more

Oh, love recant thy cry
or forgive, for I am wrong
Feed not the wretched thoughts inside
Let my heart belong

Blue sky's do not harbor me
Trees pull away their naked branch,
I see not the crystal blue of the lake
I see not, a second chance

Moon dust will not fall to me
The stars have all gone dry,
as the rough bark of the ageless oak
Which I sit beneath and cry

Beauty found in mother earth,
my eyes too blind to see
Hopes, and dreams from yesterday
Have gone away from me

Oh Tori...one can never lose sight of their hopes and dreams. Hugs

"As birds fly, I hear not their song
I can hear and feel no more" -this hit me pretty hard, tori.  I definitely can relate. Deeply beautiful and sorrowful work.

Remember what we talked about not long ago
To feel alone in a crowded room and have nowhere else to go
I understand your poem to well, as you already know
Sometimes I'm blind too no matter what nature has to show
You written well another piece my dear
congratulation are in order here

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.
