A man and a woman Living the American Dream. Two kids and a dog And stability, it would seem. The husband, professional. The wife stays at home. The husband, he cheats and Leaves the family alone. For two years this betrayal Continues on a path Of destruction and lies Until unleashing it's wrath. The victims, how sad, Are the children, you see. Hopelessly they cling to what's left After infedelity. Two families broken. Four children in all. And Promises forgotten Like the leaves of fall. You did it! Congratulations! You got what you wanted, With no hesitations. From the very first second I discovered this tryst, I should have sought you And told you just this: If you wanted him All you had to do was ask. But to stalk me and haunt me Are illegal tasks. It's a crime in the least And I'll grant you no mercy. When the Judge comes a callin' You'll see passion's fury. You can have him my dear ~ All his faults and deceptions, His sweltering ego And his lack of perfection. His belly button lint Is now yours for the keepin' And I hope chronic snoring Keeps you always from sleepin'. The perfect pair you'll be ~ Him, the cheater, You the mistress. Now there's a story to tell The kids at each Christmas! My glory is this, And many would agree, After all is said and done And the two of you are free... It won't be much longer When before your very eyes, You find the "award" you've been seeking, Is merely a booby prize. Sherry |

OUCH!! Well done! methinks there is a taste of "Hell hath no fury....." in this one.....and with good reason, too. |

Man oh man!!! I'm sure glad I'm not on the receiving end of this. You have a rapier tongue and know how to use it. Although I can relate real well to this. Sounds a bunch like my ex husband and I wish I'd have thought of it. Very good!! Poetry~ Words falling on paper, painting a dream. Shawna R. Holder Boise, Idaho |

WELL SAID!!! ~*~ ^i^ ~*~ Love is such a lonely art, and death is but a taste. Minds are merely instruments that often go to waste! ~*~ ^i^ ~*~ |

OH Thanks, everyone! Very pleasurable to write this one, although I wish my "niceness" would have allowed for an even nastier tribute! Felt great to type "booby prize". HAHAHA! Sherry "Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads." ~Henry David Thoreau |
