Well, Toe, my friend, I must agree
I've learned some things, all right.
I've learned so much of poetry
Since you've been on this site.

I used to think that it was right,
At least some of the time,
That, when one writes a rhyming poem,
The words are supposed to rhyme!!

You blew away that fallacy
And proved it so untrue.
Now I know "door" and "hard" DO rhyme
And it's all thanks to you.

I used to think it added to
A poem and made it sweeter
If one would take the time to try
To use some kind of meter.

How wrong I was!!! There is no need
To make the lines seem fluid.
Just chop them up like Lizzie B.
And write like Toe the Druid!

And, finally, I thought it good
If, even by pretense,
One took the time and effort to
Write something that made sense.

Oh, boy!! Now, how naiive was that?!
Those years I spent so blind!
When all I had to do was write
Like I had lost my mind!

Thank you, Toe. You freed me from
Those silly rules I knew.
I'm getting a lobotomy
So I can write like you!!!!

LOL!     I needed that!  And all this time I was struggling horribly with the same things, and now I know I don't have to!  What a relief. *whew*

Ah, Suthern girl, it makes my day
Each time you join into the fray
I know you follow Toe so close
When he stops quick, you break your nose.

I do admire, though, your devotion
And your misguided strong emotion.
If a typo fills you with such glee,
Accept it happily from me

Sir Balladeer:  Now that you have a clearer understanding of poetry... when do we get to read the new you?  I remember you once saying that you would never post your worst.  Well?, with the new and improved you writing in the Toerag poetic format when do we get to read it?

I agree with Sir Andrew..When do we get to see the new syle of the great one? You should do him the honor since he fought so galently beside you in the veggie wars. I do believe he sustained a serious injery in that battle. Isn't that right Andrew? You took a hit during a cheery raid? I believe that is correct...lol.

ok, Andrew. Here it is....

Hello, there folks, my name is Toerag
I escaped from a Russian gulag
I am a professor of foto-graphy
And I write poetry for a laughie.

My friend is LongJohn. He's a sailor
And Suthern wishes I would nail her
Balladeer's my one true mentor
Nan chases me with her eraser.

I found a home right here at Passions
And I'll stay here for the long duration
They like my pottery, you see
and that tickles the s**t out of me!

Balladeer-

These little poetic frays
get more vivid everyday.
I, for one, just love the pace
of you two guys, in each other's face.

Balladeer,
what you have here,
is a whopping dose,
of what comes close
to being your best ~deer~.

It's always fun
and rhyming folly
to see you both
so very jolly.

I hope that Toe
and you, both go
head to head in the ring.
While we all sit at ringside
and laugh at the main event.
Now where do we get tickets?
Love ~*Marge*~

Balladeer,
You never cease to amaze me
With you stunning doses of reality.
Whether its a rollcoaster,
or simply a boaster.
You touch me
With your poetry.
Much thanks.

Yo Marilyn: Yep I tuk a hit or three in the cherry patch, but it made for some dang good pie.  Perhaps some day I'll go back to that hollowed ground and pay my respects to all the veggies that lost their peels in that horrible war.  How I remember it like it were just four months ago... Lt. Lucie... Special Agent Mr. Cucumber... The Cabbage Patch Kids... and lets not forget Arti-choke the assassin.  How I miss them all.

Do not miss me Andrew dear,
though I've been hiding, I'm still here.

I'm working on a masterpiece.
3 lines done, wonders never cease.

I may not see all that goes on
do not forget me, I'm not gone.

I'm coming back to kick some butt.
they'll all be saying "What the ...umm"..

Oh how I long for the peaceful days I once knew, when Toe and 'Deer would cast longing glances at each other's poetry.

Please try to get along, fellas.

psst, 'Deer.  I think Toe is out to get you and should never be trusted.
