It figures; the year I leave New Hampshire is the year they FINALLY celebrate MLK day. About frickin' time. But I'm not leavin' Cali. Mike -January 15th- Even when my eyes let go tears, I know we'll find our way. Atonement, reconciliation and love Won't just be entries in a dictionary. Almanacs and encyclopedias, movies and songs, Will shout in human glory. I know someday we'll find our way; You'll be more than just a story. Mr. King, thank you. Thank you, Mr. King. We will find our way. |

I actually thought to see more poetry in tribute to Martin Luther King...you have made that step, and a wonderful tribute at that!!! (It's sad that more people would probably be celebrating this day if it were a paid holiday ) Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... |

Mike- How ironic that you titled your piece January 15 ... Martin Luther King, Jr's real birthdate. Well, the nation threw one helluva party yesterday in remembrance of the 'dream' of a giant among peace seekers. Your tribute is well-taken by this lady. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Mike, Enjoyed your poem in honor of Dr. King...and why not leave the title? January 15 is his actual birthday, so you did fine. Claire |

Phew... I THOUGHT I'd put 15 for some resaon. I guess subconsciously, I remembered it as MLK b-day. Though, embarrassingly, I could've SWORN yesterday was the 15th. And I work at a newspaper. Yikes! Mike ( so today's the 16th, right? ) |
