. the life-sap that rises washing winter from my veins inebriates me as i feel my wooden fingers grow alive again beneath your sunset-green umbrella of love and as i stand here leaf-blind my tree-soul-self sees and i admire the aura of your birchbark skin all grace-white and delicate and i want to wend my poetry along those branches branches that blow branches that tend branches that cradle the wind branches that bend the sky upward for me to grow into but whenever i try to reach you i can't and that leaves me feeling wood-cut and dark thoughts petrify my rising sap into amber crystals that fall to the ground and each crystal of frustration becomes a precious stone because within is trapped a tear of love for you and we sleep side by side by side and never touch as our roots tangle in the under-earth while my grizzled bark and oaken amber grows old and maybe we can be a chair together sometime Kevin "Poetry is, at once, what you get... and how you got there." |

This had the true sound and timbre of an age old soul whose gnarled hands once knew the silken threads of love now gone. I truly saw Poetry in Motion in this piece. Bravo, Sir! Sunshine Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

Wonderful, Kevin! I really enjoyed this and the ending was excellent! Denise And slight is the sting of his trouble Whose winnings are less than his worth; For he who is honest is noble, Whatever his fortunes or birth.~~~Alice Cary, ~Nobility~ |

this is exceptionll, i love the part wher you project " dark thoughts petrify my rising sap into amber crystals that fall to the ground and each crystal of frustration becomes a precious stone because within is trapped a tear of love... this is very nice. Lucky |

Oh, this poem touched the very beat of my heart; your lines "the life-sap that rises washing winter from my veins inebriates me as i feel my wooden fingers grow alive again beneath your sunset-green umbrella of love", are my favorite, but it was hard to find the best - I feel your words through and through. Unique, poignant, heart-wrenching, this poem stands alone in perceptive and haunting excellence. |

I love your word usage and the analogy here. You're definantly a man with talent!!! This uniqueness is something we need here in passions! Only after trying so hard to let go, did i realize how much i wanted to hold you forever> Amber and Ellis forever and always |

Kevin Taylor- The beauty of your words has grabbed me by the heartstrings. The imagery of the branches and limbs intertwining leaves me with the desire to see you two also become a well-made chair sometime, somewhere. Once in a while someone reaches for our hand ... and touches our heart. You have certainly done just that. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |
