Against Time

If time is a river
flowing inexorably onward-
then I have stood firm
against the current
denying the fluid movement
by living an existence
locked between the banks
in defiance of the torrent
with only the sands
beneath my feet
in support of this
proud humility.

Thank you Paul.....Denise.

I have taken a rest from poetry....an enforced writer's block of sorts. I discovered I have a very busy life that has waited while I wrote poetry. Not that I have given up on it mind you....I just want to take it another direction. I think you will like it.

Good thoughts, Robert. I also feel the same way although my sands are normally shifting.

Thank you Balladeer.

Marge, all my poems are in the order written. I kept it that way so as to show the "evolving" I have doen in my poetic endeavors.
