I was only in sixth grade when we first met we went steady then you met another girl I met another boy we went our separate ways But you were “My first love” I went to a different high school and had new friends One friend wanted me to meet this guy she liked She said he was the best of best and you know what It was you “my first love” I moved to a new town and met a man The day I went to get fitted for my wedding gown The person who parked my car It was you “my first love” As I stood looking into the nursery at my new child I saw other people there too looking at theirs When I turned to leave who else did I see It was you ”My first love” The years went by my marriage failed I turned to a group of people like me and who happened to be in that room It was you “My first love” We talked for a while sharing our pain We reminisced about our younger years Wishing silently to tell each other It was you “My first love” How my heart broke today as I read the news You had come to an untimely death Sadden for I was never able to tell you It was you “My first love”  |

KitKat- My heart hurts for what you've gone through. Reminds me of my resolve of long ago not to 'keep the words of love to myself'. You just reminded me to call three people that may not have known until just now ... how much they mean to me. Thank you ....
