Drug Free?

Pillage the night
with echoes of lonely.

Draw the shades...

Enclose your mind...
And refute the happiness
-of life.

And join,
join-
with the
careless/crowded
inconstant/clouded
cacophony-
of complacence.

Join-
with they
with those who walk
stride this time
in the manner of one,
-who’s already dead.

Allow yourself,
-forget your dreams-

Allow yourself,
-deny your heart-

Allow yourself,
-betray your hopes-

Allow yourself,
to play
in the symphony...

Of failure.

Hi Christopher,

I love your use of language, the care you take for the readers attention, and inventiveness.  The message so clear.  Good poem!

Ah, my friend...your words ring true, and poignantly so.

May I never be too busy to help another's load,
Then I'll be drinking from the saucer 'cause my cup has overflowed.

Jerome, you're not the only one who has trouble with that! I loved that remark, But he's right, Christopher your work is very readable and very beautiful always.
This is excellent!

Very good poem. I particularly liked the line "in the manner of one already dead" . Amazing how may of these walking suicides there are. And drugs and alcohol are not responsible for them all. Thank you for you fine work. Chris

Hey boy!  You've outdone yourself here, you come back with a bang!!  I like that - - um....I was just wondering where that cute little pic of you went....does it have anything to do with the problems you were having with your computer?  Michael said something about that....(you could use that polaroid your neighbors were gonna take)  ROFL  Never mind...I don't think the forums are ready for that.       Glad to see you back sir.
