Out here in my jungle, There's danger around most ev'ry tree, Poachers, Snakes and crocodiles, Cannibals and killer bees. But stories of things so much worse, Have been told for many years, Of something much more dreaded, The whole jungle shakes in fear. The lions cower and run away, The natives say he is "Ju-Ju" Even the elephants try to hide, The legends are all true. This "thing" is simply horrible, Eats raw meat and bugs and dung, It's breath's been known to clear a village, The Swahili pack and run. You always know when "it" is coming, With drum messages in rhyme, There's no escape, not even me, His breath rots out my my vines. Army ants go "AWOL" Hyena's make no sound, (It's been said that's why the ostrich, Sticks it's head beneath the ground.) Anteaters now go hungry, There are no termite mounds, The jungle hasn't had an insect, Since Balladeer has come to town! [This message has been edited by Tarzzan (edited 01-14-2000).] |

Hi Tarzzan, Well I do not yet know Balladeer, but I do know a fun verse and this is a riot! You and the Balladeer must both have great senses of humor. Rus |

Here, or not here That is here the question. Still it's fun read. I'm sure the jungle hero will lose his leaf eventually ![]() The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. [This message has been edited by HelmutB (edited 01-14-2000).] |

Well done, Tarzzan! You obviously know some of our regulars quite well. *G* Now I knew this horticulture degree had to be good for something. *G* All these years and I just never knew watching leaves fall could be so... er... interesting. Hey, what ya doin' in that tree And swingin' on those vines Get down here quick and write for me More funny witty lines. You're not an apeman, silly guy The jungle's not your home On vines you were not meant to fly Or in the wild roam. You have a special talent 'T' Uniquely all your own You make folks laugh - a specialty That's yours and yours alone! Now get down here out of that tree And write more poetry! (well, actually, you seem to be doing pretty good at writin' it up in the tree too!) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() < !signature--> Denise And slight is the sting of his trouble Whose winnings are less than his worth; For he who is honest is noble, Whatever his fortunes or birth.~~~Alice Cary, ~Nobility~ [This message has been edited by dsnyder (edited 01-14-2000).] |

I doubt that you've seen Africa Or any kind of jungle. You just go around butcherin' poetry To see how much you can bungle. Tarzzan? You're a real cheeta! LongJohn! Hear this line! The nearest you been to the jungle Is Hollywood and Vine! |

Yanno, I must be the densest person alive. This was a great poem, by a great poet. I love it. I was taken in completely by you, Mr. Tarzzan. Welcome to the site. I hope you have more class than some of us in here. |

Tarzzan's rhyming verses Have a familiar ring Of someone whom I've known Who Writes most anything Nothings out of bounds for this apeman Whose verses I'd call free And if my name were Seymour I'd not walk under his tree Liz |

Tarzzan, Take Elizabeths advise and don't walk under the monkey tree. Enjoyed the poem. |
