Hello friends well the time has come.... after 9 years here I will be leaving now I am getting kicked out of my house tomorrow and I will be going to prison for 5 years because I chose to drink and drive though I don't remember it at all never thought I would be homeless and about to go to prison for violation of probation but it's happening.... I will be living in the woods till my court date on the 30th then probably jail after that.... I will surely miss you all but Susan will keep you up on how i am...(SEA) if you want to keep in touch |

Dixie, I was hoping that, at the very worst, you would get into one of the shelters that you mentioned. I was hoping for an email from you tonight, but I really do understand all the pressures, time and everything else. I am still praying for you and won't stop. Dixie, Just don't forget it is never too late to change. Sometimes our hardest experiences are what we need to make us who we want to be. God has a way of resolving all challenges. Though he doesn't absolve us of accountability. So I pray you find the strength to become the woman you want to be and to endure whatever comes your way. Peace and love dear friend.  |

Dixie~~ I am so sad for you. I know you've been fighting a hard battle, and I am so sorry it's come to this. If and when you feel the good Lord tugging on your sleeve, would you perhaps think about reading a book by Anne Lamott, called "Traveling Mercies". She has a wonderful grasp on her faith and doesn't take herself or her spirituality too seriously. She has overcome some life threatening/altering addictions and has made a success of herself. She will make you laugh and cry in the same breath. For example, at one point she needs to get out of a situation and so she goes to the ladies room to pray, then writes a chapter about God being in the bathroom. She is probably the best author I have ever read. One reason being that I have longed for a relationship with God for some time, and yet I wasn't about to jump off the deep end for fear of failing. I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't even know how to pray for goodness sakes. But like she says, you can pray anywhere, any time, any way you like. She writes about a good friend who is very religious and goes on to mention that she calls God "Howard" as in howard be thy name. She had me in stitches I tell you. Oh Dixie, I wish I had the words to console you. You will be dearly missed and I will think of you often, and yes I'm going to pray for you too. Be well and please take good care. thank you all for your prayers and thoughts you have all made me just cry and smile at the same time here hopefully I will be able to get rehab instead of jail but who knows? I have messed up so bad and chances do run out. I can't really afford a laywer so I'm stuck with what i get. Never in a million years did I think I would be in this position but yaknow, I will be back. It may take a couple years but yes God has a plan. I keep that faith. Thank you all for the love here. I will keep it with me always. |

Dixie... I am so sorry to hear of your continuing troubles! ...Though not facing prison, I just got 'downsized' again (which has become rather habitual). At my age, being able to 'reinvent myself' for the vanishing 'job market' (or being able to eat and 'pay the bills') is an unlikely scenario... so I have a small sense of your circumstances... such a 'lovely' "Runaway American Dream" that unconscionably victimizes so many of us 'little people' I hope there is a major positive 'turnaround' in your future! |

Oh, hon... I can't tell you I know what you're going through... I can only tell you that there's a place in my heart that's all yours... and always will be. I've been trying to fight my way out of my own homeless situation and know how quickly our lives can crumble around us.
