Monday Dixie was in a car accident. It was pretty bad, but she is home now. I don't want to go into it here, just that she got banged up pretty bad. She needs some prayers her way, for some healing. thanks  |

 my heart is filled with love from this...Susan, thank you for bringing everyone together in prayer for me. I love you ladybug  Friends, it will take awhile to get healed, physically and emotionally. They say I should have been dead. I have a concusion which I'm sure is to blame for my lack of memory of any of the goings on. I was told that I was cut out of the car by the jaws of life and then flown to the hospital in life flight. They had to sow my tongue back together, put stitches in my hand and chin, and I have a broken jaw. Of course my whole body got banged up pretty bad with bruises because I was not wearing my seatbelt, and my neck, back, and ribs are really sore. I am not taking the pain medication they prescribed to me because I am afraid of addiction. So I just take Tylenol and Aleve. Thank you each for your prayers and thoughts. I send my love to all of you. |

Oh, Dixie! I thank God that your life was spared. I am so sorry to hear of the agony that you must be going through, but I am so proud of you that you are taking non-addictive medicine, but be careful of being too brave. You may need to take the other medicine for just a short while. I am stunned that you are able to type this - or even dictate it to somebody else to type, but very pleased that you are able to do so. However, you need to rest a lot. Lots of love and tiny little hugs round a finger that isn't sore, if you have one that isn't. - Owl |

Ouch! I think it may be a blessing that you don't remember much about the accident. It's scary enough to hear what happened from someone else. Take care and heal...my thoughts are with you. |

I went to see my car tonight. It was...to say the least traumatic. It didn't jolt my memory at all but it sure made me wonder how the heck I am here today. If you can imagine a car with no hood or engine on the driver's side then you will see what I saw. The airbag had blood all over it. The engine had come through the dash. They had to break the steering wheel to get me out. I am just in shock. There was a tow driver there bringing a wrecked car in at night...my friend asked him if he was the one that brought in my car Monday and he said yeah. I asked him what he saw and he said he arrived just as they cut the door off and they were giving me CPR to the chopper. Then the life flight crew took over. So I was dead and didn't know it. Or feel it. My heart stopped. But it's beating again now. [This message has been edited by passing shadows (09-01-2008 01:23 AM).] |

I'm sure glad too. Dixie's poor(teeny tiny) body got banged and dented, cut and bruised...from head to toe! Clearly a strong woman...she's gona be ok.  I say a prayer for you every day Dixie Angel |

My daughter came in town this weekend with her boyfriend and she has a cell phone that can take pictures so I wanted to share a few here with everyone. I am just in awe when I look at my car and feel very blessed that I am here.  me and Naomi on the beach yesterday     |

the freaky thing about it all was that I went to my doctor's appointment on Thursday and afterwards I went up to the ER to get my medical records. The one part says this: "(16:49, 25 Aug 2008) Procedure was performed at pastoral care, chaplain responded to trauma call for this patient and then made referral to on-call priest for the evening. Procedures were being done on patient and no family were present at time of referral to on-call chaplain." To me, that means they thought I was not likely to make it. It just hit me pretty hard when I read that. But I am so glad I have another chance at life now. And I am glad I am here with you good people! |
