Concerning Offshore Drilling Category's Number One and Two It's interesting to note that many of the people that are against drilling for oil here in the United States are busy driving fuel burning vehicles even with electric ones available. I suppose they can justify this in their minds because much of our fuel is imported from other oil drilling Countries such as Canada, Mexico and Saudia Arabia; and they reason that its allright to mess up the environment as long as the mess is in some one else's Country. To those that are against drilling no matter the location, here or abroad, and drive a non-fuel burning vehicle, I place them in Category 1. To those that are against drilling in the United States but drive a vehicle that uses fuel and therefore requires other Countries to drill to supply their fuel butning vehicle, I place them in Category 2. Category 1-A true environmentalist. Category 2-A bunch of hypocrits. James...I'm with you all the way on lifting the ban on offshore drilling. Drilling for oil has fed me and my family for 40 years and if not for oil no telling where I might be or what I might be doing, maybe on welfare like many others. I am for alternative fuel discovery, but until we can discover a viaible replacement we better be thinking down the road a few years and our dependency on fossil fuel. That won't change anytime in the near future. We should be mending fences with other nations and working together for the long term of discovering an alternative fuel for the good of man kind. No doubt there will come a day when there is no more oil but until that happens it is the only game in town until a better fuel is found...Paul ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |
