Ok gang, Marge needs our prayers. She asked me to not go into detail, but she is in the hospital with cluster migraines that aren't stopping. Please join me in whatever way you pray, and ask for Marge to heal. I have an address where you can send cards and Bill will make sure they get to her. You can email me if you want it and I will give it to you. Marge has been there for us, it's our turn to do for her! We love you Marge!! I am Marge's daughter, Tracie. I registered on here just to thank you all so much for your kind words, wishes, and prayers. We are letting her know everything that everyone is saying about her, and it means a lot to her and to our family. She is the most energetic person I've ever known, and it is hard to see her sick. I don't think I've ever seen her with so much as a cold her whole life. Thank you all again so much for your love for her. We do appreciate it. She is having another procedure this Thursday. Hi Everyone-- My Mom, Marge Tindal, did get to read all your comments last night and she was very moved, and talked about it in the hospital before and after her surgery today. It means a lot to her. She had a pretty invasive surgery today, but is doing fine now. She is in ICU and has some pain, but hopefully she'll be feeling better tomorrow. Thank you all again for your prayers and wishes and kind words. We really do appreciate it. And Mom will be reading them again as soon as she is able. Thank you, Tracie and the Tindal Family |

Hi Everyone-- My Mom, Marge Tindal, has not been able to read these new wishes yet, but we are telling her you're all keeping the prayers going. She really wants to read them, but she's still in ICU and they won't let her have her laptop in there. She still has pain, but is healing and surrounded by family and friends. She is eating solid food again, and may be moved to a regular room tomorrow. They are still awaiting test results to see what exactly is making her so sick. Tracie, I was pleased to see your latest post. Thank goodness our little Munchkin Marge is munching on real food again! I feared she was going to disappear on us if she lost any more weight! I have made one of my 'angel' potions for her. It is made of starshine, silvery beams of Mother Moon, rose essences ~ all in a base of spring morning dewdrops. I have also added in lots of love and laughter in ample measures. Oh, and I added in a few ounces of the liquid food supplement "Boost". Hi Everyone! I saw Mom tonight and she was feeling better than she has since the surgery last week. She was especially happy about a card that arrived in the mail at the hospital today, and she wanted me to tell you all about it. I hope I get these names right--Mom showed me a card that Tisha Gertman's mother, Mamma Muy, sent her. Mamma Muy also included a needlepoint she made with the card. My Mom was absolutely thrilled and touched to have it, and was keeping it by her side in her hospital bed. No new news on test results. Just healing from surgery now. Thank you all for your prayers and wishes. --Tracie and the Tindal Family P.S. Mom has her laptop now and can read these comments. Maybe she will feel strong enough to comment soon. |

Friends~ It is a long and very frightening road that I am on. Thank you all for the prayers and well-wishes~ The horrible cluster headaches appear to be under control with medications. Praise be~ I am making 'some' progress from the Thorascascopy/VATS surgical procedure that was performed on my right lung. The good news is that none of the biopsies have come back 'positive', with absolutely NO indication of any cancer finding and NO malignancy !! The 'other' news is that I am the team of doctor's "mystery girl" ... they simply cannot find what is causing what they are seeing on my lungs~ Paperwork has been submitted to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, for the very likely transfer there on either Monday or Tuesday~ I ask that you keep me in your prayers and give my care-givers a prayer or two also~ God bless you all for your friendship, love and encouragement through the years~ My children and the grandie girlies are still the greatest *gifts* that this mother/grandmother~ I am headed to the 'Cave of The Good Dreams' for the night~ May the Good Lord take a liking to you and may all be right in your world~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ Email - [email protected] [This message has been edited by Marge Tindal (06-07-2008 10:53 PM).] |

While we are on the subject of cluster headaches I used to get them all the time, and sometimes still do, and had every hospital test in the book to "kill them!" Believe it or not, I began having sinus problems about the same time. I heard about and then bought myself a Neti pot, and man a whole new world has opened up to me. Virtually headache and sinus infection free! Here is what I am referring to. Works like a hot dang! Neti Pot With all the "stuff" in the air these days, sure makes sense that the sinus cavity can cause headaches maybe? I have very few now Marge, and if I get them I use this and virtually right away they disappear. Worth a shot? |

Marge, I don't have much time in Pip so usually only go into the main poetry board. So, I didn't know you were ill at all until now when I was alerted to it by Karen's wheel prayer poem for you. I didn't even take time to reply to it. I just hurried in here to Announcements and Links. I have sobbed my way through 6 pages of all of the messages to and about you. I wish I had known about this earlier. I add my fervent and constant prayers, thoughts and love to everyone else's. Also I am chopping off a whole chunk of my good health (I have more than enough for myself and everyone else left) and sending it along to you. Please breathe it in deeply. My prayers are for you, your family, your care-givers and especially your doctors so that they can discover what is causing your headaches. Here is a new message from Marge, I just received a short time ago. She requested that I post it here for her so you will all have the latest news. Betty Lou __________________________________________ as you friends can gather, my typing is one-handed for now due to the iv drips in my left arm. though the CLUSTER HEADACHES are under medicinal control for now, the problem in both lungs is yet UNDIAGNOSED. i still have major pain where the last lung surgical procedure was done, due to a nerve that was involved in executing the procedure. i am still on 24 hour oxygen, and iv drips, 75 mg FENTANYL pain patch, LIDODERM patch to help with pain at the chest tube site, antibiotics to try to bring down my white blood cell count, and respiration therapy along with some minimal rehabilitation theraphy to try to gain some strength back. tracie and david are making arrangements to have me moved to a rehab center, (hopefully to God that will happen tomorrow) seeking some much-needed second opinions and pain management, and especially a pulmonary specialist opinion to try and get some concrete diagnosis on my lung growths.shands hospital may, or may not be an option at this time, but we'll see what happens. am reading all precious emails and additions to the threads so lovingly placed in my name, but simply do not have the energy to pay my proper 'thankees'. keep me in your prayers, dear friends, surely He hears us calling.*Huglets*Marge-------------------------------------------- Betty Lou Hebert |

Very gentle hugs around your right arm - so as not to hurt your lungs or your left arm with the needles and drips - no rather make that a firm squeeze of your right hand, in case I move your body inadvertently with the arm hug. I am intensifying my prayers for diagnosis of what the lung growths are, and for the subsequent relief of pain and your complete recovery, but even when you are much better, remember to take things very, very slowly. You dear friends have been here with me every difficult step of the way. Hoping to update this thread and let you all know what is happening~ I was released from Florida Hospital on June 11, and transported to a beautiful rehab facility ... my room overlooks a beautiful patio garden area and I take frequent walks out there to enjoy the wooded area (kind of like being able to mind-walk my serenity meadow), where there are Peacocks in abundance who graced the area ... birds and butterflies, beautiful flowers in bloom and I'd go NUTS if I couldn't go out-of-doors~  I have a primary care doctor here that is efficient and I really like him. I also have a Pulmonary Specialist that is overseeing my care for the lung issue. I have some good nurses and nuring aides, physical and occupational therapists, who are taking good care of me~ I am gaining weight and now tip those scales at a whopping 90.4 pounds !!!!! My kids bring me Wendy's Frosties to help me add some poundage~ We still know what it isn't at this point, but not the exact of what it is ... as the biopsies have indicated, so far, no cancer malignancies in the tissue samples ... and we continue to want to know what it is ... I thank the Lord-of-my-Knowing for all He has done to guide the hands of my doctors and to be with us in comfort of knowing that I'm going to see this 'thing' through and come out stronger than ever~ No mom could ask for better love and support than I have had from my family~ They mean the world to me, with good reason~ My best little friend, my steppie-sis, and good friends have been here for me and I know that they know just how special they are to me~ When the grandie girlies come to visit their ~Poet~ at her "Hotel-O", they are the best medicine I could have~ You all know how much I miss them everyday ... but they are love and their photos grace the walls of my Rehab Villa~ We have been notified today that Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, is opening a new clinic and I am being referred to the Pulmonary Specialists there within the next week or so on an outpatient basis evaluation~ Keep up the prayers, my friends ... I still need them and He is listening !!! Reading your replies leaves me with leaky-eyes .  .. but the tears are simply a saline reminder of just how much you all care for me~Thank you~ I still have a whole bunch of *Huglets* to share~ I'll be back to dispense them ... I promise~ Would you all pray for my brother, Tony, his health is not good and he could use a prayer-line too~  *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Dear Marge, As I am sure that you know it is summer solstice. We have about 22 hours of daylight today and I am thinking of you. I know that you have a closeness to the Earth and all the things that make it the beautiful place it is - and .. well, looking out my window at almost midnight, seeing the daylight makes me think you would really love this. I am going to take a picture for you when it is midnight and post it for you. I believe that nature balances us - it gives us beauty and it teaches us so much. I have regained some of my strength and was released from the rehabilitation center this afternoon. On the way home we stopped to see Dr. Gilliard, who is my local pulmonary doctor~ I really do like this doctor, he listens closely and is very positive in his approach to finding out what is wrong. *I will be on home health care, and rehab for a period of time, until we get some of the upcoming doctor's appointments under our belts and try to find some answers as to my 'condition' on several medical fronts~ *I will then be seen by a Hematologist (blood specialist) for a consultation on some unusual readings on some of my blood work tests~ *I have been accepted at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL, at their new pulmonary clinic, and will be seen for consultation on July 10th, on an outpatient basis, with outpatient testing and whatever else they feel is necessary to get some sort of definitive diagnosis on the lung 'shadows'/infection or whatever~ Biopsies from Barnes Hospital and from Mayo Clinic and the local hospital show absolutely no suspicion of malignancy whatsoever~ *I got established with an endocrinologist on a thyroid issue,and will have several scans and specific blood tests performed at the local hospitalon July 16 and 17. *'If' necessary, we have also scheduled an tentative appointment with a 'back-up' Pulmonary Specialist consultation on July 30. Each day is a challenge ... and with my faith and your prayers, I am confident that I will return to good health~ Whew ... dearest friends ... So many wonderful prayers, thoughts and replies~ Thank you all DEARLY for your continued vigil of prayer for me~ On Thursday, July 10, my son and daughter will be taking me up to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL, a short 90 miles from our home here in DeLand~ I will see Maher A. Baz, MD Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine~ Dr. Baz served his residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University Medical Center, and his Fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care, at Duke University~ He is considered one of the best in the country and I am looking forward to having him consult with us and review my medical history as it relates to what all has already been done by my wonderful team of doctors locally~ A fresh set of medical eyes ... and he makes the LUCKY 13th physician that I'll be seeing~ Thirteen is my lucky number, 'M', as in Marge, is the 13th letter of the alphabet~ I feel that I'm getting stronger each day, weight is up to a little over 90 pounds ... (had one rough day this past weekend that had me scrambling to put the weight back on~ Between the Wendy's Frostie's and the Haagan-Daz Strawberry ice cream, and lots of high protein meals ... I'm really feeling so much better~ Hey ... how's this for a gal that less than a month ago was critically ill, following her third surgical procedure, in Isolation ICU ???? Today I walked 1.5 miles ... yes I did !!!  I've been slowly building up my endurance ... and today I pushed it to meet my goal !!! ****AND TODAY, I added another 1.2 miles to my walking trips*** Yahooie for me !! Okay kiddos ... I made over my 20 mile goal walking treks for last week !!! The trip to see Dr. Jantz at Shands went even better than I thought it could/or would go ... also I was put in contact with the first female doctor out of the 14 I've seen so far~ (NOW we'll get somewhere) Anyhow ... as I mentioned on Karen's thread ... I'm still the 'mystery girl' as far as a diagnosis goes ... mega more testing is being done as I sit here and type ... why if they keep it up they will have to end up GIVING me blood instead of drawing so much of it out of me for tests~ Certain lung debris cultures are being done and also the previous ones are being scrutinized by the pulmonary folks at Shands ... Dr. Jantz is hopeful he will be able to 'pin it down' ... to quote the good doctor ... "Cancer is OFF THE TABLE" ... so that leaves most likely an infection, or something of an infectious nature ... as the culprit ... I'm pretty sure I should be praying for just an 'infection' I think~ I will return to Dr. Jantz on August 11 th ... so hold onto those prayers for me, okay ? God knows that you people have been a major part of the 'glue' to my hope and sanity for months now~ My family continues to be the greatest thing I've got going in my corner ... keep them in vigil of prayer also~ HEY ... and throw in a great big prayer for Serenity/Karen ... she needs us too~ And while we're at it ... let's just pray for everybody in the the whole wide world that needs us, okay ? Okay !! Prayed very hard for you all day (this being the day that you had your bronchoscopy). I hope that you will soon be home safely - or, if necessary, are staying one more night to make sure you are well enough before you travel.
