![]() I have been busy preparing for my first appearance in a Dance Dance Revolution tournament at a local Portland arcade next weekend (April 28th) and I am quite excited as I have an immense love of the game (as you can see with my recent DDR councelt poetry set, LOL!) and recently achieved some of my first Difficult level AAAs (AAA means being exactly on the rhythm throughout the song and getting all Perfect scores, AA means earning 95-99.9% of possible points, A 81-94.9% possible points, and so forth!) ![]() Although I am inexperienced with photography and don't have a digital camera, I communicate with other DDR players via the Pacific Northwest Bemani community, who take lots of photographs wherever they go, and I'm bound to have some pictures available for those yearning to see more photos of myself (I know, it's been way too long since y'all have seen any new photos of me, and the promise of a new picture is well overdue!) ![]() Wish me luck, y'all! ![]() Sincerely, Noah Eaton "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other" Mother Teresa |

Well good for you Noah! I tried that in Disneyland a ton of times, and couldn't get the hang of the darn thing, but sure had a ton of fun trying. However, Tori, my oldest granddaughter is awesome at it! Let us know how you make out. I had no idea until you posted this that there are tournaments, and found tons of links online to look at people doing it now. Thanks and good luck! |

Good luck!! Good luck!! and again X10. I thought that DDR is for teens. or you are a teen. You really need a digital camera. A one as simple as possible... 3-5 Megapixel is enough. let me say, around $100 or so to try one. Do not buy one with many buttens and 1/3 inch thick instructions. You will find it is fun that after take 200 pictures..(you need buy a big memeroy card ($60-100)) you will find two or three which you can send out for magazine cover. enjoy and keep jump. |

Sir Balladeer, go to best buy or Circiut city to find out. A play Station 2 or 3 game. There is a pad with up, down, left, and right arrows. You step on them with single or both feet or jump according the requirmant showing on the screen. it comes with noisy musics. It has different levels. for fun but not for exercise. I am sure that those fast flying arrows on the screen will drive you crazy. |

Believe it or not, Noah, my physician recommended this game to me for physical therapy! My neighborhood being unsafe to walk in, and I find the treadmill tediously boring, so he asked, knowing I have teens, if they had a Playstation thingie. He told me there are different levels, so I can start out slow, and recommended the metal pad that comes with a handle, as my left hamstring has atrophied, so I tend to fall when that tires. So your "playtime" is to be MY therapy! And um, nope, there will be no videos on "youtube" from me either. *laughing* My kids have put stern boundaries on my madness. ![]() But for those who need a great cardiovascular exercize, this is what my doc recommended. This ---> ![]() (Just thought I'd add this info for us old folk Noah.) Good luck to you, from Karen The Falling Hazard. ![]() ![]() |

Oh, Noah thanks for that url. I never knew what you were talking about when you talked about the "dance dance revolution". Now I am informed. And yes, it is time we see the older version of you! Not that you will ever grow old. I wish we could see your competition! Aamazingly Serenity, when I watched the start with the slower beginning I said "Oh Sernity and I have to do this together!" I used to dance everything double time. I can't last long now but I can start out pretty good.LOL martyjo |

![]() Reuters: February 1, 2007 "Dance Dance Revolution", in fact, IS great exercise for anyone, particularly if you play for a consistent period of time regularly at a standard level of game-play. In fact, a recent study by the West Virginia University School of Medicine found that, in a 24-week study of 50 overweight or obese children, aged 7 to 12, those who play the game about thirty minutes a day five days a week maintained weight levels, and another study actually found that playing the game for an average of 65 minutes per day both can lead to gradual weight loss and improve csrdiovascular health. However, my appreciation of this game runs far deeper than that, as I have never been really overweight at any point in my life, and in fact am quite underweight now (124 pounds) but I have always struggled with underdeveloped motor skills my early life, and this game has truly been a prayer to me, which I believe heavily improves hand-eye coordination (and foot-eye coordination, LOL!) and also helps improve perception abilities; in deciphering rhythms and musical notations, thus being able to recognize the baselines in rhythms, etc.) Obviously food intake is hard to monitor in these studies as well, so the accuracy of these studies can be debated, but I for one feel a great positive influence from this game and wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone here. In fact, if I ever decide to run for any public office, a main part of my campaign would be to implement a DDR health program into Oregon public schools, all public schools if I could! I have some good news and bad news here. The good news is I had fun at the little tournament, and finished 7th out of 11 players. The bad news is no one had a digital camera with them today, so no pictures are available of me and others, which I feel really bad about in that I got many here excited that they would finally see new pictures of me and such this weekend and ultimately my hopes and excitement were just too high. How I wish there was an easier way to get your picture out there without spending much on technology. Sincerely, Noah Eaton "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other" Mother Teresa |
