I know of a great poet, by the name of Shel Silverstein. That should be the correct spelling. He has published 4 books: The Giving Tree, Falling Up, Where The Sidewalk Ends, and A Light In the Attic.

I have 3 of those books and all of them are great!!!

Yes, he is (was...   he passed away last year) an extremely talented poet who has a knack for combining hilarious subject matter with whimsical verse. He has long been one of my favorites and I have many of his books.
My favorite poem by him is "My hobby" (heh heh - "As I spit from the 26th floor...")
I highly recommend him to everyone here at Passions, especially those with children.

If you're unfamiliar with Shel Silverstein, you're in for quite a treat...

Oh, I didn't relize he had passed away...
When I first read Falling Up, I thought is was the best book of poems, I had to read more of his. My favorite poem is 'When I was your age...' and 'Sick'. I think they're both in Falling Up.
Thanx Nan for the web addy!
