Not Valentine's Day, which will probably come first, though they may well coincide. Nope, not exams either (did you know teachers hate those as much as you do?). Not what you're thinking either, Nan, as this has little to do with me.

Doreen, you had several good ideas in there, one of which was even accurate - but still wrong. And, yes, you will know when IT happens, whatever it is to which we're counting down.

Geesh, you guys are a tough audience! I feel like maybe I should have a whip and chair before coming into this thread.

Haven't you ever heard that patience is a virtue? (Unless it's work-related, in which case they call it procrastination and make it a vice.) The faint of heart should probably go away for a while and write a really long ballad, because this countdown is going to take us a few days. Some things, ya know, just can't be easily rushed.

It was either wayoutwalt or me... not sure.. at least that's who was posting at the time.. I have to admit that I timed it perfectly - but walty was right there too..

I might have said something earlier except (a) I was afraid I'd get lynched if I tried this trick again, and (b) I just noticed it tonight.

Some time this past week, probably on Wednesday, we broke 1.5 million posts.

Want to hear something just a little bit freaky?

Nan reported our one millionth post on Feb 17, 2002. Although I wasn't watching it, I'm fairly confident Wednesday, July 2, 2003 was the day we broke the 1.5 million mark.

That is EXACTLY 500 days.

That works out to a new post being made every 1.44 minutes. Adjusting for the vernal equinox and prevailing solar winds, we should therefore be celebrating our two millionth post in the early morning hours on Saturday, November 13, 2004, EST.

I honestly didn't know that there were so many people who love to read and write poetry like this. I am so glad  that I found all of you here at Passions. I LOVE  this place......but I think that's kind of obvious, huh??
