Sorry to our gracious moderator Alicat for breaking the copyright rule. Still I am interested in your favourite love songs, even if we can't drop in lyrics. For real honest love songs I strongly recommend NIck Cave and the Bad Seed's "Boatman's call" a very beautiful album, he has been compared to Leonard Coen. MY favourite song from the album is "Into my arms" just Nick Cave on the Piano with a bass quitely in the background. His voice is kind of flat but oon this song he really stretches it finding a certain tenderness |

*smile* It's ok, Brian. Usage of a verse or two is ok, as it falls under Fair Use. Just don't have the entire or majority of the lyrics posted. Guess my all time fav love song would be Jim Croce's 'Time in a Bottle'. Simple acoustic score, simple message, but with astounding emotion and imagery. |

All of the above are GREAT---and am stifling a giggle or two--SANDRA? I do owe you a story, but for e mail, okay? Favorite all time love song--is one that was sang to me--grin---"Woman"--by John Lennon. And no it wasn't Lennon... but? it was sweet enough! |

Bryan Adams definetly. All his songs are great. I also like the song called "Endless Love." You wouldn't worry about what people thought about you if you knew how seldom they did. |

lovebug is in trouble, my fault though. I put this plea on the first version of this thread but darn it I left it off this one, NO POP BRATS no BRitney, S Club or back street boys. NO boybands, girl bands or people who don't write their own songs. I guess what I am looking for is the real love songs, not the cliched cheesy ones, but the real heart felt songs that are magical and poetic. |

Scout, I never thought of Fake plastic trees as a love song, more about how we are fascinated by fakeness, perfection that never really lasts, or is never as good as the real thing. Still it's your list. I just thought of another two, Dancing Barefoot and Because the night by Patti Smith. "Like Sand underneath the snow, I make you mine." Kristin Hersh |
