Let's hear them! What are your 'pet peeves'? What 'torks' you the most? I'll tell you that people who talk on the phone while they're driving really get to me! Also, women who put on makeup in the car! And - people who talk during a movie in a theater! Ok...let's hear some more - - - - |

Women who leave the toilet seat down... LOL Just kidding... Actually my worst pet peeve I think is someone who agrees wholeheartedly to EVERYTHING I say... That drives me absolutely NUTZ. Michael |

Michael, I also agree. In fact, I don't think you've ever said anything I can't agree with! Nope! Can't think of a thing! |

Okay, okay, the toilet seat can stay down. But only if the door to the out house remains open (air circulation is important, especially now that the days are getting warmer)... |

And if anyone steals the Sears Roebuck catalog that hangs on the nail in the outhouse, I get furious! After all, WHAT do I do then? Geez, you guys have lids to your toilet seats! Must live in fancy places..... |

The door to the out house can stay open as long as the line attached to it is always kept well-stocked with clothespins - unless of course there's an adjacent tulip garden for that au natural - 'eau' de fleurs.... |

Pet peeves, eh? I have many..people who think they're better than others, my mother running the vacume for hours on end, whenever my computer doesn't work right, people calling me really annoying nicknames, people insisting to know what I'm thinking all the time, just to name a few....lol, and I agree, the toilet seat MUST remain down..and for all those people who complain, you can go over to Ms. deVine's place and beg to use the snazzy outhouse..maybe if you're good she'll even let you use her treasured catalogue. *Krista Knutson* ~*Only when trudging through the soul's darkest midnight can one truly appreciate the glory of the sunrise*~ |

I have many...the biggest being co-workers who don't want to carry their share of the work and puts a strain on the rest of us. Hypochondriac sisters... people who insist on putting on make up while driving...computer problems that always seem to occur after my son uses it.... and not being able to get DSL in my area yet(though I call weekly to bug them about it. I bet they are gonna be sooooo sick of me when I finally get it). There are many others but I gotta go to work now and I don't want to be a peeve to others. Let's see--when I am talking to someone on the phone and they hang up before I have a chance to say goodbye to them (this REALLY ticks me off), seeing a poem with no replies on it, when I send an email to someone and it goes unanswered, when I get unwanted critique, writer's block--and that toilet seat HAS to stay down! Sorry, didn't mean to ramble. Elizabeth "He have his goodness now. God forbid I take it from him!" -The Crucible |

Hmmmm okay just a few : People reading over my shoulder,... People telling me how I should feel, act,etc... People who judge others without getting to know them ... Someone using the last ice cube and not filling up the ice tray ... Many many more that evade my mind right now "A poet is one who spends a lifetime standing out in thunderstorms, waiting to be hit by lightning" ~Randal Jarrell~ |

Well, now that I get to thinking about it I would have to add people who critique you based on what they "assume" you were feeling when you wrote a poem. I can deal with critique on form and understand where that might/can better a poem... but when someone wishes to change your words to better suit their needs - I think they've went a bit to far. That irks me... Michael |

hmmm.... 1.)call waiting- absolutely hate it and i will never have it! 2.)if someone drinks my last soda. (i admit, i'm a caffeine addict) 3.)listening to someone complain about the same thing over and over and over again while refusing to do anything about it. 4.) my roomate telling me to get off the computer, when i've only been on for half an hour, and he was just on for three! and that's just some....... oh yeah, another vote for leaving the toilet seat down. having a male roomate, i have fallen in many times. it's not fun!!!! |

Ah pet peeves People assuming that I don't know much because I'm not as "old" as them Oh the never ending war of gender bashing, a great peeve of mine People that can't make up their minds and are always in the center of the road. The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, not the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship." --Ralph Waldo Emerson |

Rude people ( lots of them here in Florida) Disrespect shown to the elderly Disrespect shown on the poetry forums Stuck at a red light and seeing the guy or gal next to me busily digging in their nose ... yuck!! Constuction workers hoots and whistles when you walk by Doctors booking every ten minutes and not caring about the time we have to wait for them .... Bad hair days And, finally, SPAM |
