I am gonna outline something I observed this morning...tell me what you think was going on. I was walking home from piano when I saw a guy rolling a car out of a drive way....engine off, just pushing it out. A few minutes later (I had just crossed a road and couldn't see him anymore), he comes zooming round the corner in this car and drives off into the distance. What do you think? Maybe his battery was flat or his starter motor broken, so he had to bump start the car? Perhaps that made him late for work, hence the zooming off into the distance? |

LOL maybe he snuck into his girlfriends house through a window the night before and was trying to be quiet when he left so he didnt get caught so he pushed the car back and then got in and took off ? hehe |

Dunno... Somebody actually stole a helicopter from one of our local airports the other day. He walked in - asked for flight clearance - got it from the tower - fired up the chopper - and was on his way... It's amazing what can be pulled off by someone who acts like they belong in the situation.. ![]() |

Ah well, speaking from the legal end of things...if you espied the license plate, call in a report to the police and/or go to the house and see if the car is still parked there...if it is not, and you have a friend with you, knock and explain to the occupant what you saw... but I would personally just report it to the police if I had suspicions as to any illegal activity, as long as I had something to give them [i.e., license plate number] Sunshine ~~~Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow. I think he was 'borrowing' it to take his sick mother to the hospital. or He wanted to surprise his girlfriend by taking it for a tune up. or He was stealing it!!!!! Call the police! ![]() |

The police here wouldn't give two hoots about it. I didn't catch the number plate. Well, thanks for your replies. Actually, I was just wondering if people would think I was jumping to a hasty conclusion. It did look extremely suspcious though. I think I'll go with Eric's thoughts on the whole thing, although if I seen it myself, my imagination would be severely overworked. LOL! ![]() Nothing can deter a poet, for he is actuated by pure love. Who can predict his comings and goings? "Thoreau" |

Lil' Lizzie~ If I observed what you did and it raised my suspicions ... I would report it to the police or to my parents. Perhaps it was an innocent enough act ... but if it 'looked extremely suspicious' ... it would have been worth reporting to someone. I'd like to think that if someone saw it happen at my home .. they'd report it and let the law decide just how suspicious it was. Sad to think that 'The police here wouldn't give two hoots about it.' If everyone held to that determination ... no one would report anything suspicious. I think perhaps that's very sad. I think it's interesting that most responses here assume some kind of crime was happening. Probably, he was jump starting his own car because the battery died. ![]() |

ESP; I like "stuff" like this. Need more info! ...but, me thinks he did not want to call attention to his leaving, slipping out. Wanted to get somewhere in a hurry, yet caution leaving. Hum.....does the car live there, find out. hehehe marcy |

I was thinking he was sleeping over at someone's house that he shouldn't have been... but then my mind always turns to the "romantic" rather than the "criminal"... Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn. JP |
